Great Food and Value !

Good food..Very well priced. Quesadillas were Awesome just like the Chips and spicy Guac ! Service was quick but not very attentive, no one cleaned our table :( Another thing which can be improved is the lack of space. Will visit again !

The Lower Haight branch of the Little Chihuahua was a real find. Great food (I had a terrific burrito) served in good sized portions very quickly and efficiently. You arrive, place your order at the front counter and then take your seat. Our food arrived within just a few minutes. I was also able to order a horchata which tasted... More

Recommended by our landlord- the food was excellent- nice flavours, though the salsa was indeed too hot. We had the chicken burritos and the taco salad, both of which were huge, and filling. It was great to get roasted chips instead of fried ones, so that we didn't have to watch our waistlines. Would request them to improve the cleanliness... More

The brunches at Little Chihuahua are very good, and that's the meal I would recommend. There are many other outstanding Mexican restaurants in San Francisco, and several within a couple of blocks of this one. But for brunch on the weekend, this is a good one. You'll order at the counter, get a number, and find a table if you... More

I am on a mission to save the endangered plantain burrito. I did not know they even existed until I went some friends took me to Cu Co's last year. My five star review of that place did not save it from going extinct - but hopefully TLC will fare better. I Alta Vista'd "plantain burritos" and the search results... More

The food here is okay but is not the best Mexican food I've had. Some of it was way spicier than it's meant to be and this kind of killed some of the flavour - it was just so hot. This was true of everything our party ordered. However, the service was quick and friendly, and they were happy to... More

Lots of choices for vegetarians, big servings, friendly service, high quality food. If you are very hungry and want a luscious treat, order the black bean and friend plantain burrito. The chips are terrific, too. The noise level is high, though, so probably not the best place for a long, intimate conversation.

We went to The Little Chihuahua restaurant in Noe Valley in San Francisco with trepidation. Our adult kids liked it, but several reviews on another website claimed it was poor or so-so. It was quite good! I had the pollo asada enchiladas and husband had the plantain and bean (vegetarian) burrito. I do not like burritoes but I LOVED the... More

We stayed at the Metro Hotel and the Little Chihuahua was across the street. The food was quite good and the service was awesome. I would have enjoyed a mild salsa for the chips since everything was on the hot side but other than that, it was a pleasant dining experience :)

It's possible that I've eaten a lot of bad Mexican restaurants, but this was hands-down some of the best Mexican food I've ever had. My dad and I were driving around lower Haight, trying to find a parking spot to get some food--we were starving (and I was very grumpy!). After finally finding a spot, we happened to ask a... More

Staying in Haight-Ashbury

Neighborhood Profile
Haight-Ashbury
The area surrounding the intersection of Haight and Ashbury streets, “The Haight” still exudes vibes of the 1960s counterculture as a haven for vintage clothes, music, pop posters and body piercing shops. While the Summer of Love ended decades ago, Haight-Ashbury has turned into a melting pot of hippies, hipsters, and professionals. Walking through its streets can still feel like stepping back in time. A must-see neighborhood for most music fans, it’s easy to see why these streets attracted the likes of the Grateful Dead and Janis Joplin. You’ll likely be content in The Haight day or night, just be sure to wear some flowers in your hair.
