4/6/15 This place serves really good fish and chips. That should sum it up and say it all. But wait - and wait - and wait. Oh my gosh. I have patience, but I was not out and about to have it tested! Please Mrs. Codmother, buy a couple more fryers! If it wasn't for the outstandingly pleasant employees, I... More

The Codmother serves truly authentic British style fish and chips. This is basically a food truck setup, very casual with several metal outdoor tables. Don't expect fast food service times. We did have to wait 15-20 minutes for our order, but they told us that up front, and the quality of the food is well worth the wait. We will... More

We visited based on such positive TA reviews. It was a standard fish fry- certainly nothing to write home about. I know its called codmothers but I don't think it was cod. The cod I eat at fish Fry's in the Midwest are thick flaky fillets, these were quite thin. Also, they didn't have lemons. For a quick lunch it'll... More

Food was great, the wait was ridiculous. Faster to go to the supermarket and go home and make it yourself. Once they have your money you are in the never-ending wait......

We had fish & chips. It was good little bit oily but still good. Fish was fresh, batter delicious and chips not too bad. They also have a deep fried Oreo if your game. The owner is lovely and very friendly. If you have a tour with city sightseeing tours and you take your ticket there they will give you... More

The Codmother is a tiny street side eatery that serves the best Fish & Chips this side of the pond. The batter on the fish was perfect and the Chips had just enough grease to make the salt and pepper stick. Served wrapped and To Go with Malt vinegar. Loved it and will visit again on my next trip. BTW... More

We had fish & chips. The fish was Cooked fresh, the batter was delish. But the actual fish was just ok. The chips were nothing special & after waiting 1/2 hour in line, wasn't really worth it.

We stopped here "by chance" en route to Fisherman's Wharf…we were not disappointed! Fish was cooked to order and was delicious. The fish and shrimp tacos were delicious, the garlic fries were delicious and stayed with me for the rest of the day! I'm heading back to SF in May and will make certain to stop back in. Oh, and... I think the fish tacos were pretty good. And they weren't overpriced at all. I am glad that I stopped by, and it was a welcome change from all the great burgers I ate in San Fransisco.
