Not bad

We had fish & chips. It was good little bit oily but still good. Fish was fresh, batter delicious and chips not too bad. They also have a deep fried Oreo if your game. The Codmother is a tiny street side eatery that serves the best Fish & Chips this side of the pond. The batter on the fish was perfect and the Chips had just enough grease to make the salt and pepper stick. Served wrapped and To Go with Malt vinegar. Loved it and will visit again on my next trip. BTW... More

We had fish & chips. The fish was Cooked fresh, the batter was delish. But the actual fish was just ok. The chips were nothing special & after waiting 1/2 hour in line, wasn't really worth it.

We stopped here "by chance" en route to Fisherman's Wharf…we were not disappointed! Fish was cooked to order and was delicious. The fish and shrimp tacos were delicious, the garlic fries were delicious and stayed with me for the rest of the day! I'm heading back to SF in May and will make certain to stop back in. Oh, and... I think the fish tacos were pretty good. And they weren't overpriced at all. I am glad that I stopped by, and it was a welcome change from all the great burgers I ate in San Fransisco.

I can see that quite a lot of the reviewers here are British and that's a good sign! We came here for lunch on a fairly slow Friday. It wasn't difficult to get a seat and food didn't take long. Portions were huge! Not much else to say, really, other than, yeah, pretty good.

I haven't eaten proper chip shop chips in years, so my expectations of the Codmother were high... I asked for them to go, served the way they should, drowning in salt and malt vinegar.(much to the delight of the Codmother herself) Fabulous, crispy, flavoursome... I wish I was staying longer so I could have them again

The lightly-battered cod tasted so fresh. And there is something special in the sauce for the fish tacos that made it so addictive!

This restaurant is tucked away off of a side street. You get 2 large pieces of cod fish and fries, enough for 2 people. The fish was very good and you couldn't beat the price. Highly recommend this place. Staff was very friendly and very helpful.

My husband took a job here in Sanfan. We looked online at reviews for restaurants down on Fishermen's wharf. Codmother Fish & Chips had great reviews so we decided to try it. We were not disappointed. Our first concern was if the fish was farm raised. The owner assured us it was not farm raised and was a product of... More
