Most decadent, highest calorie, largest portion, sweeter than sweet, heavy cake. Nothing wrong with that, but this is just not for me. The sugar overpowers any flavor or taste, leaving you with a big sugar fix only. Sorry, just not my kind of thing.

We were drawn in by the colorful treats! It was my youngest one's birthday and were were visiting. We got 5 cupcakes for her birthday! I was very surprised and happy that there was a gluten free option for my youngest! We did not try the cakes and cookies, but i'm sure they are delish!

I eat gluten free not by choice but as a necessity. To find a cupcake bakery that offers at least one GF cupcake was huge. Had one and had to go back (ok, in honesty, several times) Delish!

Cakes, cupcakes, cookies, you name it they are all wonderful. As a matter of fact, my thoughts about keeping in shape while in San Francisco were all ruined when I passed outside this shop. My favorite, was the coconut cake (I think with bits of pineapple in it) and the peanut butter sandwich cookies (to die for). The guys know... More

My husband and I were staying near Chestnut Street. We were out strolling one night and went in to get something to have with our coffees. I swear it took me 10 minutes to decide because of how delicious everything looked. The cakes were gorgeous, but we didn't get any. This night we got a giant snickerdoodle and a frosted... More

We stumbled across this little place on our way back from dinner at Delarosa's, see separate review, on our last day in SF. Thank God! My "girlish figure" would not survived the sweet goodness that is SusieCakes; especially after a week in Monterey and daily visits to Pavel's Bakerei, see separate review. Everything we tried in SusieCakes, cake, cupcakes and... More

Love, love LOVE SusieCakes, whether it's this or the Menlo Park location! Favorite thing to get is one of the slices of cake...marble and celebration cake are our two faves! Feels so fun and old fashioned to sit down with a slice of layer cake and a glass of milk. One thing to keep in mind is that SusieCakes' cake... More

This place has the best cake slices. You don't even have to buy the whole thing, we got chocolate and vanilla confetti cake and they were both so good. I highly recommend stopping by and picking up some treats to go.

Staying in Marina District

Neighborhood Profile
Marina District
Beautiful homes, beautiful people, and a beautiful backdrop of the Golden Gate Bridge welcome visitors to the Marina. Originally the location for the Panama-Pacific International Exposition in 1915 (whose remnants can be seen at the Palace of Fine Arts), much of the land was filled and flattened to accommodate a world’s fair. That ample space has given way to a jogger’s paradise at the northern edge of the city. With the picturesque bay setting as its backdrop, it’s no surprise that the area has hosted numerous movie productions. Daytime activities focus on café culture and boutique shopping, while the evenings turn this neighborhood into a party-going hotspot.
