Cool and relaxed place to eat in San Francisco

No fast food but fast... Great system to order and then they get you the food to your table, but in a nice way. Some good plates and well cooked. People taking the orders very friendly and helping with recommendations. Try the Chicken pot pie, really good

What an amazing breakfast! We ate at The Grove the Saturday before the St. Patrick's Day parade simply because it was a short walk from the parade route. We were pleasantly surprised with an amazing breakfast (fresh and delicious food and LARGE portions - my favorite!). We were also able to sit outside to enjoy the perfect weather... Lastly, there... AMAZING! The food combinations are unique - try the Grove Eggs Benedict for breakfast. It's a walk up and order, fast food feel, but they bring the meal to you and there is no rushing you out. The restaurant has a very eclectic and different feel to it. Makes you just want to sit back, relax and chat with friends.... More

We were greeted by a friendly staff person who explained how the restaurant worked. You go to the counter, order and they deliver your food to your table. Most of us have been at this type of restaurant these days and some of the food is a little less then exceptional. However, The Grove not only has a great atmosphere... More

we were looking for a breakfast stop as we were heading to the st Patrick's day parade and this was recommended by the front desk of the hotel. Usually those recommendations are hit and miss but this was a nice surprise for us! Be aware, there is a process to their ordering and seating and we almost lost our table.... More

This place is my favorite breakfast spot in SF. While they serve other meals, I've never tried that part of the menu. Their oatmeal and the French toast are two of my go tos on the menu.

Our hotel recommended this place. My husband doesn't like breakfast burrito's but tasted it and was amazed, as we all were. I had the Veggie breakfast sandwich. The roll was so soft and light. The bread pudding was awesome. Not too sweet. the portions were very large. Average for my sandwich though. There were 6 of us and we all... More

We got a late start for breakfast this morning, so we tried The Grove. It was conveniently located around the block from our hotel. The food was better then I expected. I had the bacon cheddar scramble & my wife had the eggs bennedict. There was a consistent line during the time we were there.

We went to grab a Valentine's Day dinner before going to the SF symphony. The good? A gorgeous late afternoon outdoor spot to enjoy the street scene. And the sour cherry pie was excellent as was the overlarge cup of coffee. But my entree of the braised short ribs came with cool mashed potatoes--and the meat was dry and bland.... More

Service and food was great, first time we have eaten there but not the last. Recommended by the staff at the Four Seasons and it was well worth it.

Staying in SoMa

Neighborhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighborhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighborhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
