Found this great breakfast joint a block from our hotel -- a great alternative to overpriced hotel breakfast buffets or Starbucks yet again. Eggs were perfectly prepared to order, good ham in the omelet (not chopped), french toast was great, and bread pudding rocked. Its a cute, hippie vibe, organic and super friendly. You order at counter and take a... More

This was a hotel recommendation and they got it right. There was an amazing hostess at the door handing out menus so the line wasn't clogged with indesisive customers. This is an order at the counter and delivery to your table system. I ate there every morning of my stay it was that good. The breakfast sandwiches and omelets were... More

Delicious avocado eggs! Fast service and great atmosphere. Large selection of food. I went with my 10 and 7 year old and they liked it too! You order and pay first, then they bring the food to your table, wich makes it fast and efficient. If you need to order something else they attend you at your table so you... More

The Grove was recommended to us by the concierge of our hotel after we requested a family friendly restaurant, close to the hotel <we had tired feet from exploring San Francisco all day> with healthy food and a relaxed environment. Well, this restaurant did not disappoint - try the olives and roasted nuts to much on while waiting for your... More

Great food and despite the line up, it moves fast and the quality of the food makes it worth it. Great pies, great breakfast food. Definitely a must stop breakfast place if you are staying near Union Square or in SoMa

No fast food but fast... Great system to order and then they get you the food to your table, but in a nice way. Some good plates and well cooked. People taking the orders very friendly and helping with recommendations. Try the Chicken pot pie, really good

What an amazing breakfast! We ate at The Grove the Saturday before the St. Patrick's Day parade simply because it was a short walk from the parade route. We were pleasantly surprised with an amazing breakfast (fresh and delicious food and LARGE portions - my favorite!). We were also able to sit outside to enjoy the perfect weather... Lastly, there... AMAZING! The food combinations are unique - try the Grove Eggs Benedict for breakfast. It's a walk up and order, fast food feel, but they bring the meal to you and there is no rushing you out. The restaurant has a very eclectic and different feel to it. Makes you just want to sit back, relax and chat with friends.... More

We were greeted by a friendly staff person who explained how the restaurant worked. You go to the counter, order and they deliver your food to your table. Most of us have been at this type of restaurant these days and some of the food is a little less then exceptional. However, The Grove not only has a great atmosphere... More

Staying in SoMa

Neighborhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighborhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighborhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
