Felt like we were in Europe ❤️

This was our second German food choice so happy the "first choice" was closed that day. Leopoldo's is true German food and with that comes great service and amazing times. The dinning room is true European style benches for groups, nice bar, and for families both seating to fit many! Our server... read more

Visiting my son in SF and enjoyed our dinner last evening at Leopold's. The entrees were excellent, very hearty and authentic. A must try if you like German food.

A German theme greets when you enter Leopold. You're seated at a table for two along side other tables. This is not a problem because the atmosphere is such that people talk to each other. The food is delicious. The beer selection is wide and good. It's a very popular place and deservedly so.

We were at Leopold's on May 31, 2015 for dinner. A bit like stepping back in time, due to the decor and server attire. Noisy when we arrived because of a large group, the level abated when they left. Pleasant experience overall. Our most interesting selection was a shared vegetable strudel as a salad.

Glad I arrived early because the place filled up quickly. Casual venue. Small. Happy, somewhat noisy, crowd. Had vegetable strudel appetizer, jaegerschnitzel entree, and apfel strudel for dessert. All very good. The spaetzle were so good got an order to take home with me. Tried the Stiegl lager - liked it very much. No real German food to be had... More

Stumbled upon this restaurant last night. I'm always interested in Austrian food abroad - it's hard to get right it seems. But I was very impressed with the schnitzel at Leopold's! It was nice and thin, just great! The potato salad was a bit watery, but the cucumber salad was good. We also had the chicken soup, and the kasespatzle.... More

Staying in Russian Hill

Neighborhood Profile
Russian Hill
Russian Hill has evolved into a chic residential neighborhood with outstanding views from every corner. Combined with several great cafes, restaurants, antique shops and boutiques, it’s easy to see why any visitor would gladly leave their heart in San Francisco. Cars line up day after day to drive down Lombard Street, the “crookedest” street in the world, and make the slow creep downhill past charming period homes. Polk Street is the main drag in this neighborhood, where you will find trendy bars, cafes and shops populated with locals, but for one of the most charming rides in the city, grab a cable car heading up and down Hyde Street.
