Breakfast and a Beach

The restaurant is within walking distance of Ocean Beach in the Sunset neighborhood. We knew that we would have to wait for our table, but it is easy to pass the time looking at the General Store or the grocery store. The location was one draw, but the food was why we were there. Had it not been... read more

Terrific breakfast, great breads and fun food in this burgeoning gentrified neighborhood out by the beach. If coming for dinner call a head as there can be a line outside; but just the kind of fresh sourced meals building on first-generation San Francisco restaurant movement

Our kids live in Ocean Beach/Outer Sunset where they have a business, so we tend to avoid the downtown, touristy area and love this neighborhood. How lucky to have this fantastic restaurant within walking distance of their home! We went mid-week for dinner and were there right when they opened since we had a toddler with us (maybe not something... More

First time here but it wont be the last, Had the cornbread benedict with scrambled eggs and it was fantastic. Started with the bran muffin because it looked so good. Normally I don't like bran muffins but this was excellent - moist and healthy! Will return to try their grilled cheese sandwiches which looked divine!

A hyped up Insta-famous spot true to San Francisco, but totally worth it. Saturday brunch which had an excruciating queue, but it's best to go in 3's. Pick and share a bit of sweet and savory; the sticky bun, creamy sunchoke quiche, eggs in a jail, Dutch pancake and the broccolini are all to die for. And of course, don't... More

I've been here several times and I have to leave a review. The menu always changes and are creative without being over-produced or too fussy. Their bread is to die for, but the owner used to bake at Tartine, so that should not be a surprise. Any time of day is great--sit outside if you can. If you want to... More

Outerlands surprised us with an amazing organic breakfast, made with fresh ingredients. The best in San Francisco.

As in, waiting for a table (long lines at weekends) and waiting to be served (friendly enough but slow). A good lunch spot not far from the beach. Not the most expansive or inspiring menu in the world, but from the very first bite you can tell they use high quality ingredients. Glad I went (the eggs in jail was... More

I had the 2 eggs with squash, spinach and feta. My boyfriend and son had the falafel and eggs. Everything was delicious! The bread is freshly baked and we could taste the goodness. The pastries were amazing too. We will be back.

Two of us ate dinner there based on recommendation from a friend and did not regret the trip out. The service was prompt and courteous. We found the food to be very well prepared and somewhat unique. Would particularly recommend the roasted chicken dish. Just a hint of smoky flavor, not at all overpowering which can often be the case.... More
