We found this restaurant by chance, walking back to our hotel through the Tenderloin. It was a quiet night and we had no problem being seated immediately. Service was very attentive and the meal was wonderful. My wife ordered a coconut lemongrass soup that was more complex and flavourful than any version we had ever had elsewhere. That and a... More

My wife and I have been coming here for several years. A friend of ours who is Thai believes that Lers Ros has declined in quality. That may be, but it's still very good, at least for the non-purist. And still an utterly unique restaurant and menu. You can order alligator, for instance. I haven't ever experienced trouble with the... More

For me, this was a real find. The location is surprising (Tenderloin District) and you have to wait a bit even with a reservation, but the food is wonderful. It's the kind of food you savor for hours afterward. The blend of spice with unusual taste sensations is super, provided your taste runs to spicy curries. We found the service... More

First, this place is in a very skechy area so be careful and yes, the menu consists of different dishes than other ordinary Thai eateries but, it was not that impressive. Portions are quite small for the price. Most of all, they will watch your table like a hawk and try to take away the plate as soos as the food... More

Yes ...yes the location is Tenderloin but in a way it is great that restaurants and other projects are moving in the location to revitalize the area... the first time I had lunch there I ordered a curry with eggplant and although the curry was delicious, the eggplant was literally raw.. I mentioned this to the waitress and she was... More

Ok we are all always looking for that amazing hole in the wall place that combines amazing food with exceptional value in a quaint comfortable setting. Lers Ros offers 2 of the 3 above stated qualifications. The food is excellent the price is medium to extreme in terms of value and the setting is comfortable and basic. Located in a... More

I am not an expert on Thai food especially hailing from the Midwest. I've always enjoyed trying new things, and this menu did not disappoint! I asked a young man who was waiting to be seated what he would recommend, and he said the pork sparerib appetizer (kra duk moo tod). These were quickly devoured, and the spicy sauce on... More

Located in maybe the poorest SF neighborhood "Tenderloin" you might rethink your decision to visit this restaurant, but the food is worth 2-3 blocks of quick walk. Tried fired frog & shredded green papaya salad. Both were delicious. Will definitely return.

The food is actually worth the sketchy area and the terrible service... despite making a reservation we had to wait for 40 minutes. Food came out of the kitchen sporadically and not in the order that we asked for. Servers didn't seem to care. Having said that, the food itself is excellent. Very good Thai curries, crispy quail, larb salad,... More

Stick with chicken and Sake. it can get any better than that. The price is decent and the food is very good.
