Visiting SF can be very expensive. Hotels, taxis, restaurants. Multiply by family of 4, and a night's eating out can easily hit $150. So, while I was walking, I saw a line outside this small eatery at 3 PM. Came back with the family for dinner. We all agreed it was excellent udon (many varieties). Most under $15. Easy to... More

Had a terrific lunch here of tempura and udon noodles. The restaurant is quite small with tightly packed tables. There is a large selection of Japanese dishes including sushi and sashimi. The cost is very reasonable for the quality and size of portions. My only complaint was the crush at the door waiting to get a table. Service was good.... More

I did not love the sushi at this restaurant however it did have very nice Onigri and a great Katsudon ( I really love Katsudon and I have found that is very hard to find a place that will make this dish adequately). I will certainly visit this restaurant again (which I did several times during my stay in San... More

During my first and short stay in San Francisco I passed by chance this restaurant when I was on my way back to my hotel. The interior of this place looks quite comfortable, not that big and it was completely full. So I decided to order a meal to go. The employees were very friendly, the food was ready on... More

We were looking for a place to eat before going to the Theatre and this caught our eye(s). It's a small place, but the ladies who were working there were very prompt. When my order of sashimi came, it didn't look like very much; but the slices were thick, so I cut them in half. It ended up being perfect... More

I ate here a few years ago and then I tried it again on a recent trip to SF for a quick lunch. The sushi is OK but the soups are excellent. Really good value for the money. Nothing like some good Japanese food on a sunny fall day in San Francisco!!

Thus restaurant has a great variety of dishes. We had a few different dishes (soup, chicken curry, gyoza) and they were each as good as the next. Would definitely recommend it as it is easy, tasty and has a great atmosphere.

I think the sushi here is okay. Not great, but very good. Maybe more importantly, given the location, downtown San Francisco, one of the most expensive cities in the US, I'd give it an "excellent" score. It's clean, fast, tasty and reasonably priced. Wine/Sake and beer only, which may be sushi traditional but is somewhat unfortunate nonetheless - sometimes it's... More

I last ate here several years ago, happened to be in the area and decided to have a late lunch. The food and service were very good and very authentic. Had a bento lunch with fried oysters and teriyaki salmon. Great!
