Seven Hills is an absolutely wonderful dining experience. The authentic Italian fare stands out in a city with numerous good Italian restaurants. The menu allows a varied choice from my wife's Poached Hawaiian Kampachi to my Spaghetti with Grandpa George's sausage. The pasta is made fresh there every day (try the Ravioli Uovo). Our San Daniele Prosciutto Salad made our... More

Dining at Seven Hills was a very pleasant experience. Small, charming bistro style restaurant, where you can enjoy both traditional recipes revisited competently, and very creative dishes. Good wine list, professional and courteous service, friendly reception. Above all, ravioli uovo and sea scallop, both outstanding. Strongly recommended!

Our evening got off to a poor start as the table was not ready (the place was packed on a Sunday night) and there was really nowhere to wait except a tiny occupied bar. Things improved greatly. The service was good and the food was even better. We started with marrow (beef?) which you scooped out of the bones and... More

This is really the best restaurant with reasonable prices you can find in SFO. Purely by accident we found this wonderful place and we came back twice during a seven days stay in San Francisco. The home made pasta is wonderful, even better the first plates like icy spaghetti and grilled octopus. Also the vines are phantastic, they have two... More

Great food. The service was a bit too personal for our taste, but they worked hard to please. The fresh pasta is terrific as is the pork chop.

Loved the neighborhood setting and the intimate dining room. The wine list is reasonable and well-curated. The smoked octopus starter was cooked to perfection - every bite tender and flavorful. The flank steak was melt-in-your-mouth tender, cooked to order (truly medium-rare), and generously portioned. Service was delightful and enthusiastic. We wouldn't have ordered dessert, but the description forced us into... More

My husband and I made a blitz trip to San Francisco, with only one evening available for fine dining. I had read the reviews for Seven Hills, and was favorably impressed, all the more so because "locals" frequent the place. Not that we're looking to make any friends in San Francisco, but think about the local restaurants in your neighborhood... More

Having lived in Italy for 5 years and NYC for many more, I have enjoyed many fine Italian meals. Seven Hills ranks among my favorite Italian restaurants. When in the bay area on business, I never miss an opportunity to enjoy one of the best examples of carbonara anywhere or the unique and delicious ravioli. The pork chop is a... More

So glad we stopped on to this quaint spot on Hyde street nestled between the trees. The service was exceptional, prompt and efficient and the most gracious staff I've ever dealt with. Our food came out steaming hot and was delicious. Absolutely memorable were the parmigano reggiano chips with the balsamic drizzle, a light little bite, but I could have... More

One advantage of writing a restaurant review six months later is that if a dish (or dishes) still bring back happy memories, you know it was really memorable. So it is with Seven Hills, located atop a hill in San Francisco, a restaurant I found highly recommended on tripadvisor. It did not disappoint. The restaurant was small and cozy, with... More
