Everything tasted fabulous, but the portions were very tiny. Embarrassing so. Really a bit shocked. Don't know what else to say, I have eaten around the world.

Price points rule at this small San Francisco Italian cafe. The pasta course was appetizer size, the price said entree. It wasn't bad, but the flavors didn't merit the premium. The wine list starts at $50.00. We ordered glasses of wine and were surprised at how little wine was in the glass. $12.00 a glass. Really? For That? We must... More

Called for a reservation and was told first available was 9:15 - but come early and they could probably seat us. Arrived around 8:30 - nothing available. No big deal. Asked the hostess for a recommendation for a place close by to get a drink until we were called. She was visibly annoyed, offered lame suggestions. I saw Barrique across... More

I always look for Italian restaurants that have a warm atmosphere, great pizza and pasta and great service. Cotogna fits this bill. Our hotel concierge sent us here and told us that this was the best Italian restaurant in town. We were happy he sent us here. Our choices were simple and we were not disappointed. We ordered an heeirloom... More

We have eaten at Cotogna many times. It was always hard to get a reservation so perhaps the first clue to what we would experience should have been the ease with which we were able to book. We had one of the worst meals we have eaten i nSan Francisco in years. As the casual restaurant of Quince, a two... More

I'm always impressed by the food here. It is simple good ingredients served with style and in tasty combinations. I recently sat at the bar overlooking the pizza oven and watching the young lady produce the pizza's with such care and attention both to the preparation and tending of the wood fired oven was a revelation. And so tasty. Recommended.

Excellent food and great service sums up my review. From the wine to the appetizer to the main entree to dessert everything was well prepared and fantastic. The service was excellent as well. My only complaint if it could be called that was that it was very loud and hard to hear the people I was with. Otherwise highly recommended.

This is a charming place by the owners of Quince that serve some of the best pasta in the city. Bear in mind that the portions are small for the price but the fillings and the sauces and especially the al dente perfection of the pasta AND the dough itself offset the value issue. However, a starter and pasta is... More

I loved everything we ordered from the homemade melt in your mouth pasta dishes to the house special porterhouse. If you don't want to spend $$$ at quince, this is the next best thing. You will still get the same quality pasta dishes without the big dollar signs.

I really wanted to LOVE this cute, atmospheric, neighborhood restaurant and, while I LIKED it, it fell short of getting the LOVE. First the good...Great, cozy space with brick exterior and interior, stylishly finished. The service was top notch...water glasses filled frequently, no waiting for our reservation, in spite of it being a holiday week end. Yes, we were seated... More
