Saison is not your everyday restaurant. It isn’t even your special occasion restaurant. This is a super S-P-E-C-I-A-L occasion place. Bring your wallet and get ready for the experience of a lifetime! The food variety is excellent - I enjoyed all the dishes and when a restaurant offers these many dishes; it's definitely an achievement. There is no separation between the kitchen and dining areas and you can see the chefs preparing all the meals. Also it feels pretty special when the chefs visit your table and explain the dishes. The service... More

I cannot consider Saison fine dining. The exuberant price tag that it carries makes a need to put a different tag on it, to be able to justify it. As it is now for me a once in a lifetime experience and an education it was amazing. Some of the courses and pairings are incredibly opulent and other ones try... More

Strong arguments could be made by the most knowledgeable critics and casual culinary enthusiasts alike that Saison is the top place to eat on the continent. I've been all over the top food scenes in the country and can honestly say it just might top my list as well. Only gripe would be the chef's infatuation with pop music....but whatever,... More

We had the set menu with friends and we were blown away at the awesome food quality and presentation. The wine pairing was spot on! We were guests of friends but will be back in the 2015. Service was awesome and spaced perfectly by our servers. Although a steap price we got what was something we'd never had (or could... More

This was our second dinner at Saison. The first was at the old location, when they had just started tasting menus. They have perfected their dining experience. The service was great, and knowledgeable. I saw some Japanese daikon hanging to dry in the kitchen asked if they were making a certain type of pickle, and the server knew the ingredients... More

Day after Christmas treat. The Discovery menu was all that was on offer on our visit. Combined with a beverage paring, includes wine, beer and saki. Perfection all around. Courtly service, freshest ingredients, farm chosen and prepared flawlessly. Heavy on fish but such delicate preperation each dish arrived as an awakening to possiblity. Pairings on pitch for each dish, some... More

This is the best restaurant hands down, that I've eaten in, in the USA, in at least the last 10 years! That's saying a lot but I mean it. The food, all 19 courses, was spectacular. Incredible tastes, textures and presentations. Each course was unique and served in beautiful serving utensils. Because the "menu" shifts daily depending on the chef's... More

Even booking well in advance 9pm reservation was the only one available. Arrived in sfo early in the morning after 12 hr flt. With time to while away, went all day shopping. Quick break and then taxi to saison. Warm welcome. Offered flute if Krug on settling. Wow. Set the tone. Asked if I wanted the regular or extended menu... More

The service was as great as the food--which is saying a lot! Was able to snag a bar reservation at the last minute for friend's birthday. Felt as well-taken of as if we had a table seating...only complaint is that the wine list isn't very diverse w.r.t. CA wines.

Neighborhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighborhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighborhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
