Even booking well in advance 9pm reservation was the only one available. Arrived in sfo early in the morning after 12 hr flt. With time to while away, went all day shopping. Quick break and then taxi to saison. Warm welcome. Offered flute if Krug on settling. Wow. Set the tone. Asked if I wanted the regular or extended menu... More

The service was as great as the food--which is saying a lot! Was able to snag a bar reservation at the last minute for friend's birthday. Felt as well-taken of as if we had a table seating...only complaint is that the wine list isn't very diverse w.r.t. CA wines.

Be prepared to spend a lot, but also to get a lot! The atmosphere surprised us, it was like eating at someone's home, unlikely for a 3 star restaurant! Kelly the Sommilier picked perfect wines (and beers) for each course, oh bring your appetite. Many courses, but proper size and plating was artistic, and they do believe in farm to... More

My husband and I joined two local friends for dinner Saturday night at Saison as part of our culinary weekend in the city. After a disappointing dinner the night before at Coi, we really were hoping that Saison would deliver. It did--but not before a very rocky start. Overall, our dinner at Saison was extraorrdinary--inventive, delicious, and sometimes even a... More

A different kind of degustation... flavors are clean and light that you will not feel bloated after the meal. I think the best way to describe the experience is its fresh. First, make sure to allocate 3-4 hours so you are not rushing through the courses. Then do the wine pairing since they know best which wines will enhance their... More

I am really torn about my experience at Saison. I loved the location with the open kitchen and the atmosphere, even though I was given a table 30 minutes after my reservation time (but the table was awesome, right in front of the kitchen). I loved the originality, I especially loved how they use vegetables even though they rely too... More

We've had meals at great restaurants on six continents and I've always considered SF a worthy foodie destination. It's been a while since we've visited but our recent trip offered us the opportunity to sample a half-dozen carefully selected venues. Most, sadly, were disappointing. But Saison, fortunately, restored my faith that people in this city are still capable of doing... More

We were a party of four and we visited Saison on Thursday 25th September. We opted for the discovery menu and despite the large number of courses the portion sizes were perfect. This was a food adventure (you need to like fish/caviar but the courses are well balanced with lots of vegetarian dishes and some meat also) and probably would... More

Thanks to my foodie brother for an introduction to Samuel at the bar, who loves to share his encyclopedic cocktail expertise, & who's one of the most innovative & approachable bartenders I've ever encountered. Saison is a real oasis in this part of SF; come here for a calm & sophisticated evening, not for a frantic pick-up or power meal... More

Saison has a laid back atmosphere, different from other fine dining experiences. Yet the food is presented more fine and innovative than restaurants I have visited recently. The food, the ambiance was spot on. We told the waiter that we wanted to try the chef's tasting but was nervous that we would be too full so they changed it up... More
