Beautiful restaurant, class plus all the way. The entire staff is very friendly and the service is absolutely fantastic. My husband ordered the little gem salad and it arrived maybe 3-4 minutes later. We had a bottle of our fav (Spottswoode Sauvignon Blanc) ordered the special which was poached lobster with black cod over a bed of roasted brussell sprouts... More

Let's start with every dish we tasted was excellent. The sommelier was knowledgeable and attentive. The service was generally good - but this place needs to "get over itself". One of our party is vegan and ordered the radish salad without the bread crumbles. Seems pretty simple...not so simple. What followed was a litany of excuses ranging from the pretentious... More

I brought a group of friends to Prospect because I remembered a great first visit: interesting menu, great food, and special service when we were here a little while after it first opened. This time, I was disappointed. The menu wasn't very interesting, the food was good (as opposed to my rating of "very good", because I thought "average" was... More

Beautiful modern space. The food is not super innovative in terms of technique or ingredient combinations, but most dishes are delicious and well balanced in flavor. My favorites: seared scallops, duck three ways, house-made caramel popcorn. It was also one of my favorite brunch spots, but looks like brunch is no longer available. Bummer.

A colleague of mine who lives in San Fran had heard of this place and wanted to visit. It didn't disappoint! We didn't have reservations but they have really cool bar seating that includes a large table where you can co-mingle with others while eating. The food was simply outstanding. The carrot hummus was fab and something I'd not had... More

We wanted a light dinner, so we decided to eat in the bar at Prospect. The bartender (Steven) was very helpful and seemed genuinely happy that we were there. He helped us select some nice wines by the glass and we ordered the spiced nuts, stuffed squash blossoms (best we had in SF) and the spare ribs. Everything was delicious.... More

A very bustling Thursday night, there from around 6:30-9, three in our party -- two from out of town and one local. The halibut was very nice but $$$, green salad was OK but nothing special. Service was OK. For dessert had plum and melon sorbet, both fine but nothing special. For us, the decibels were the downside . .... More

My wife and I were enjoying the poached sole at Prospect when my wife discovered a bright orange worm slithering around her plate like a snake. Beware diners!

We enjoyed a birthday celebration dinner at Prospect. The food is inspired and interesting. The service is exceptional. They employ and staff sufficient numbers of staff. The staff are well trained. They are extremely attentive. They provide new silverware with each course. They remove plates timely. They wipe up messes on the table between courses. They pour water when you... More

Arriving early at the glass enclosed modern restaurant near the Bay Bridge, we were impressed. Although our reservation was much later, the hostess seated us promptly at a nice table. The menu was short but included many interesting choices. For an appetizer, I had the sweetbreads with frisee and thinly sliced beef tongue salad with an added bonus of fresh... More
