Went with a large business group for lunch, had a great meal -- the pork rice bowl in particular was to die for. It's very hip, great interior design and funky menu as well. Being a foodie helps immeasurably -- yeah, there's a cheeseburger on the menu, but I think the personal embarrassment of actually ordering it might be fatal.... More

Superb food, cool cocktails, rustic urban decor, exquisite wine and food pairings and fresh flavor combinations. We had a beautiful artichoke/avocado/bursts salad, a savory monkfish dish and a wonderful rhubarb tart with crown butter ice cream. Yum!

Modern Californian and did not disappoint. We had the local food foie gras with raspberries. The best I have ever had and I lived in France Then Alaskan halibut with fresh asparagus. Nectar for the Gods Innovative but sound cooking in nice atmosphere and great staff. Will go back for sure

A large group visited this restaurant and we all left full, satisfied and happy. The service was great - the staff were friendly, helpful and invisible with their service. I was not aware once of my wine being topped up! I had the steak for main which was cooked to perfection exactly as ordered. It was my first time having... More

Our group was late coming back from wine country and did not have any reservations. We stopped by Boulevard as recommended by friends but the wait was a bit long. Their hostess was very helpful and called their sister restaurant Prospect. We were able to be seated at 8:00 on a Saturday night!! entrees were great the Halibut was a hit... More

Our group included a bank CEO, two foodie tourists and a Muslim exchange student. Tough crowd to please but we all walked away very happy. The atmosphere is a bit stark--with a very tall ceiling (20' maybe) and one wall of windows that offer some natural light but it's diffused by the surrounding tall buildings. A somewhat open kitchen offers... More

We enjoyed the food here very much. The Halibut was as good as any I have had anywhere. Service is very good. I felt the wines by the glass were a bit pricey but that is not unusual I am told. There is a big noisy bar scene but the dining area is far enough away to not be bothered... More

Some of the best food I had in the US. Their beef tartare starter and pork chop main were amazing. We arrived at 8.30 and it was very clear the staff wanted to go home. They tried to rush us through, even removing my plate as I was putting my last mouthful in my mouth! The food outweighed the shoddy... More

Staying in SoMa

Neighborhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighborhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighborhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
