Better than "Bird watching"

I enjoy the Prospect more than State Bird; it has a better vibe, you get to think about what you want. The food is excellent every time.

roslook of where the 'rich' and 'high power' dine. The interiors have the feel of Hollywood glamor of 70's and 80's. The menu Speaks of $$$$$$, every item on it are either organic or wild or homemade orspecial farm raised. It took a lot of deliberations to make up our minds. Fortunately the chefs performed diligently as the foods, calamari,... More

Loved it. Great menu. Could have chosen almost anything. Fab wine list and not too pricey. Service without fault and cool bar and dining room. Doesn't get much better than this on a night out with friends in a big city

We came here for a birthday dinner after seeing the menu online and deciding the offerings looked more interesting compared to some other restaurants we were considering. The table we were led to was in a cramped corner and probably the worst one in the restaurant. Fortunately, we were able to be reseated at a table along the windows after... More

In addition to the foie gras terrine, which is on the menu, the restaurant offered a seared version which included a slice of the terrine. The appetizer was perfection. For our entree I ordered the duck breast, and my wife had one of the best pork chops imaginable. The wines by the glass were excellent but a tad pricy. The... More

Had a very nice meal into private dining room. Good quality food and very nice wines. Staff were friendly and efficient. Id say it wasn't the cheapest meal ever but hey that is San Francisco for you.

We went to Prospect last week to celebrate my birthday. My husband and I have a very restricted diet due to food allergies and they worked with us to create spectacular meals. I had duck breast that was perfect and my husband had a pork chop brined with juniper berries that was as good. For dessert we had cranberry sorbet... More

Lured to Prospect after learning it was developed by the minds behind Boulevard - a San Francisco landmark. Fantastic food, warm decor, friendly service. The New York Strip was the best I've ever had and the pork belly and lobster appetizer was amazing.

Visiting from the UK we chose this restaurant to celebrate my brothers 50th birthday. Overall the experience was really enjoyable. The food was tasty and well presented, Daphne our waitress was superb, and the overall atmosphere was buzzing! One strange occurrence though, when we saw fit to politely point out that a dog (not a guild dog let me say)... More

Staying in SoMa

Neighborhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighborhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighborhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
