Some reviews noted challenges with the place. Intrigued I visited, as a part of a group, for a dinner last night. The waiter, which is common, did a fantastic job describing the dishes. When asking about the chef, he was described as "intense", especially in the kitchen. All I can say after this meal is that I LOVE "intense". In... More

I met a friend on a Saturday night for dinner a few weeks ago. The restaurant has a lovely decor. It was busy with a nice looking crowd - patrons were dressed and festive. We waited F-O-R-E-V-E-R for everything...for our waiter to acknowledge us - for our drinks to arrive - for our starters to be delivered, and for our... More

We made reservations and were given an excellent table. Usually we get shoved into a corner being the regular shmubs we are (not that I wouldn't put us in a corner either) but we had a booth in the middle of a lively fun restaurant. Our server, Elizabet, was perfect for us. The service was perfect but in a light... More

You know a good restaurant by the way they handle large groups, we had nearly 40 in the private room, with chicken and beef as the mains! A disaster waiting to happen, the truffle risotto was delicious and the chicken was the best Chicken meal I've had at a restaurant, it was flavoursome and moist! The person beside me had... More

Had a late dinner here with business associates on a Friday night. They were featuring a flight of Italian olive oils as a special appetizer, which added a unique and flavorful twist to the evening. Swordfish, black bass and steak frites, all done expertly. Portions were a little small. We tried a super Tuscan wine, recommended by the sommelier, which,... More

Excellent experience from the greeting at the door to the last sip of coffee. The service is exceptional. The biggest problem was trying to decide what to order as everything was so enticing. The fish special (it was swordfish) was divine with a rainbow of accompaniments that, while I have no idea what many if them were, I would order... More

Found from SF Chronicles Top 100 Restaurants in SF. Really nice for a date; casual enough to relax and enjoy. Great wine on tap! Interesting, but really tasty and cheap! Great Moscato as well. Pork medallions dish topped with Pork belly: Cooked perfectly and the best pork dish I think I've had in a long time. Free-Range Chicken... simple enough... More

We went there for a company Christmas dinner and had a variation of very nice dishes. Ranging from seafood to steak, everything had a great taste and was nicely prepared. The champagne and wine selection was very good and also the cocktails were wonderful. Only complained is, that is indeed quite noisy. Hard to have conversations over the table.

The food, wine and service are top notch! The menu changes on a regular basis and there is always something new to try and enjoy. The main challenge dining here is making up your mind what to select. It is always a memorable dining experience and I highly recommend Prospect. (It is located very close to the Ferry building)

Beautiful restaurant, class plus all the way. The entire staff is very friendly and the service is absolutely fantastic. My husband ordered the little gem salad and it arrived maybe 3-4 minutes later. We had a bottle of our fav (Spottswoode Sauvignon Blanc) ordered the special which was poached lobster with black cod over a bed of roasted brussell sprouts... More
