This was such a surprise to find this place. It's a italian (Rome) themed restaurant. Service is always good. Ambiance is simple and refined. Food is fantastic! Great wine list too!

The location although in the heart of the city is very quaint and quiet. The service was excellent and the food was remarkable. Do try the grilled octopus!

Lovely little restaurant, delicious dinner. This is real Italian food. The ingredients were fresh and well prepared. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

The pasta is nearly perfect and very creative. The sauces are highly varied and perfectly paired with the dishes. They have a small but excellent selection of wines. the staff is knowledgeable and helpful without being too intrusive. The dining rooms are cozy and comfortable and on nice night the patio is a great place to dine.

very nice italian spot in a great spot in downtown SF! We were booked for 4 people and only showed as three, so the manager asked us to move (very graciously). We moved a better table and he bought us desert and coffee (very nice touch). Food was very fresh - particularly the pasta choices. Nice wine and excellent service.... More

We walked in with a party of 6 and they worked their magic to accommodate our group. Wine was good! It was very difficult to understand our server as he was a bit soft spoken, odd for that type of job. Anyway, food was very good but for an Italian restaurant I felt the menu was limited. Just my opinion.... More

We called in to this wine bar / café for a drink before returning to our adjacent hotel. The bar staff were very knowledgeable about their products and offered some complimentary small samples of other wines. A nice way to finish a day.

The had a table for twelve on the lower level. As far as we could tell, there were only two other tables down there. But the acoustics were so bad that we could not hear each other just two people away. The menu is small, seafood and Italian mainly. The octopus was rubbery and bland. The fish special was Halibut,... More

It was literally painful to have to sit through dinner inside Mint 54. And the food was mediocre- The octopus was bland, the fettuccine with white truffles had black truffles. (The waiter said they were from the same family) The caccio e pepe had white pepper not black. We were very disappointed.
