I really liked the vibe in this restaurant. Be aware though, no TVs at the bar. A little more eclectic mix of fairly traditional Italian offerings, a little more authentic and interesting than you may find at some other places. Traveling alone and ate at the bar. Went on a Saturday night 12/26 and was very disappointed. Server CE super slow. My wife got the sea bass and she said it was very average. I got the gnocchi and it was nothing special. They make you get vet a credit card to confirm a reservation when the place is not full! That's rich Bad service and barely... More

We loved our dinner here! The place is so comfortable and rustic. The service was attentive. My wine (a Sangiovese by the glass) was delicious and our food was delectable...Misticanza (salad), Polipo (octopus) and the Cacio e Pepe. Perfectly prepared and accompanied by wonderful bread. What a gem!

My wife and I had two very different dishes, or at least we thought we did. As it turns out, both were just a grainy Alfredo sauce, mine with chunks of ham (carbanara), and hers with some added pepper. I will not return. There are MUCH better Italian restaurants in the San Francisco area.

Cool place to eat or have drinks. Parking and shopping near by. Salads and pastas wonderful. Tiramisu so smooth and delicious.

The short ribs were great, the shrimp was just OK. The starters were all terrific. It's a busy place with lots of bustle and noise. Our waitress was excellent.

There were a couple of dishes here that were great. Really liked the sausage (that they make themselves) and lentils and the gnocchi was good.

54 Mint was highly recommended by the staff of Hotel Zetta and the bonus was it is located just across the street from the hotel. It served pasta and we had to carb up for the San Francisco Marathon. Well, my husband needed to and I'm a supportive wife! The food was authentic Italian and scrumptious.. .from the appetizers to... More

I visited upon arriving in town and they made room for me in this small lovely restaurant. Mixed salad was fresh with pomegranate, walnuts, cheese. I had the special, pasta with black truffles which was understated, deep in flavor and great. Gelato was a nice ending. Saw the octopus appetizer go to other tables and would definitely try that if... More

Last minute find on trip advisor proved to be a fantastic find. Cocktails were perfection. Gnocchi was an amazing noodle dish and the salmon did not disappoint

Staying in SoMa

Neighborhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighborhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighborhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
