This hidden gem is the best Italian place in town for sure, don't be fool and try to look for Italian food in north beach. for appetizer we share the octopus salad and the suppli, both were really good. They have as special a pappardelle with lamb ragu, that was amazing. Coming back for sure when I will be in... More

Great place for a visit with friends or business partners. Great service, food is tasty and in pretentious. Ordered the Pepe pasta a classic roman dish and it hit the spot. The prosciutto was fresh and the tomato mozzarella croquettes just right in terms of crispness. All in all great dinner.

Interesting menu at this location near Union Square. It has an Italian farmhouse feel with a very cool vibe. Great beer selections, wines and cocktails. The food was delicious. I had the Sea Bass, very good.

Easy and nice place for having a business lunch. Small so a reservation is recommended. Food is good and the menue is not overloaded.

Out of the way restaurant close to union square. The food offerings are not typical Italian with a nice mix of pasta and seafood offerings. Octopus appetizer was outstanding. The pasta was very fresh. Dining area is very open and very busy. The wine selection was excellent. We visited on a very busy pre-holiday night and the staff was quite... More

54 Mint is tucked away and you have to seek it out. It's south of Market and close to Union Square, but it is not right on the street, so you wouldn't pass by it if touring around. Extensive wine list and well-prepared Italian food. If you grew up with an Italian grandmother cooking for you, the menu will disappoint... More

Nice stuff, the waiter was a loquacious italian that we liked a lot, the food was very good. We had: misticanza- good salad, must try, also pizzetta- was not very good- don`t try it, also octopus- delicious and soupli- very very good. For main course I tried gnocchi al ragu- excellent and for desert it a selection of tiramisu, lemon... More

This restaurant is located next to the old Mint building- tucked away in the back of a courtyard, The menu is somewhat limited but had some very interesting offerings. For an appetizer, we tried the uni on top of toast appetizer- a nice Italian twist to a Japanese staple. My mushroom fettucine was tasty; my husband ordered the oxtails, two... More

54 mint is great for large groups. The private room is quiet and service diligent. Just watch your glass as waiters keep topping it up and by the end of the evening one may find out they drank more than planned. The food is good too with Italian accents and they make good expresso. The restaurant is hidden away on... More

Very small place. As some others noted, the noise level is quite high (was it due to high ceilings and lots of brick?) and there was virtually no air circulation. However, service was attentive and the food was delicious. My friend had white truffle risotto and I had gnocchi, which was house-made (one reason my friend chose the restaurant). Nothing... More
