Great food, friendly people, solid atmosphere

I found myself alone on the streets near Haight Ashbury looking for great food and I found it. It fairly early on a Friday night but the place was starting to pack in and there was a long list of reservations. They were cool and sat me at a deuce right by the door and I was fine with just... read more

I love Persian food and this restaurant really delivers. It is full of fragrant and delicious spices used in a subtle, not overwhelming way. The saffron rice and skewers are my favorite. Service is nice and gentle too, not pushy but really friendly. I think it is a family restaurant, it feels that way. The desserts are good too. The... More

Imagine an atmosphere of simple hospitality - delicately painted walls, sunlight, wooden tables - as if you have just wandered into someone's Mediterranean home for a meal. Now add plates of rice topped with jewel-like saffron, berries, and nuts, perfectly spiced meats, small plates of feta and cucumber with flat bread. That is Lavash. We stopped in for lunch on... Excellent food, service, and music (which was at the right volume, not too loud). Fairly large portions. Persian food is exotic, very tasty, but not hot-spicy. Overall, a perfect lunch.

After our first visit here last year, we just had to go back. We were shown to a nice table for three for dinner, and they served free lavash with cheese, cucumbers, and lettuce. The chicken fasenjan and pistachio baklava are delicious here. As usual, we had the baklava packaged to go because they provide a generous portion loaded with... More

Enjoyed the many favors of the food. Loved that a little Mezes plate was served at each table. Variety of menu choices were quite good also.

I enjoyed the middle eastern feel and the wonderful grilled meat and jeweled rice. Small place, but nice large windows make it feel big.

I had to return to this restaurant in the Sunset area of San Francisco which was introduced to me by a local and good friend who dines there often. Even her other house guests from overseas want to return to eat there as their first meal. Food is delicious and so genuine Persian it is scrumptious. Good sized servings, attentive... More

There's the average restaurant that everyone goes too and then there's Lavash in the sunset. As simple as just great food, and they want you to be happy.

The food is wonderful, lived the appetizer of lavash bread with briny cheese, walnuts, herbs and grapes. Grilled meats and vegetables are to die for. Friendly service, nice decor. Parking is the only problem.
