Best meal in a long time.

I wish I lived in San Francisco instead of 3 hours away just to visit Lavash weekly! We had our meal family style so we could experience more easily the Zereshk Polo - Jeweled rice with chicken, barberries, raisins, turmeric and saffron. Mmmm. A combo of Shishlik; lamb chops seasoned so... read more

This restaurant was recommended to us by a friend. So, we stopped by for some appetizers before heading out on a hike at Golden Gate Park. We had the Dolma, Sabzi Panir, Yogurt Salad, and Soup-e Adas. The Persian food was fresh and delicious! A very nice and quiet restaurant it visit if you're near Golden Gate Park.

I tried this place a few times. The food is decent but the way the owner treats the customers is aweful. To constantly nagging about having to finish up because another reservation for the table is coming soon is very irritating. We usually spend about an hour to an hour and a half on a Friday or Saturday; not that... More

After walking though Golden Gate park for a couple of hours, we jumped in the N Line MUNI and headed toward Cole Valley to find lunch. During the journey we decided to jump off and find a restaurant. We walked less than a block and found Lavash, small but filled with patrons at 1:30PM. We entered and were met with... More

We had been recommended Lavash by someone from Iran, so admittedly are expectations were high. We were not disappointed. There were four of us, we ordered 2 appetizers, 3 mains (one for 2), and 3 desserts. We did finish most of the food, it was a bit of a struggle, but the food was so good! My favorite was the... I found myself alone on the streets near Haight Ashbury looking for great food and I found it. It fairly early on a Friday night but the place was starting to pack in and there was a long list of reservations. They were cool and sat me at a deuce right by the door and I was fine with just... More

I love Persian food and this restaurant really delivers. It is full of fragrant and delicious spices used in a subtle, not overwhelming way. The saffron rice and skewers are my favorite. Service is nice and gentle too, not pushy but really friendly. I think it is a family restaurant, it feels that way. The desserts are good too. The... More

Imagine an atmosphere of simple hospitality - delicately painted walls, sunlight, wooden tables - as if you have just wandered into someone's Mediterranean home for a meal. Now add plates of rice topped with jewel-like saffron, berries, and nuts, perfectly spiced meats, small plates of feta and cucumber with flat bread. That is Lavash. We stopped in for lunch on... Excellent food, service, and music (which was at the right volume, not too loud). Fairly large portions. Persian food is exotic, very tasty, but not hot-spicy. Overall, a perfect lunch.
