Description: Taste some of the most typical dishes from Lucca that you can only find in...
Taste some of the most typical dishes from Lucca that you can only find in Italian houses. Our pizza has become extremely popular in the past five years for its uniqueness, with a style so diverse from other pizzas around the city that you simply must try it if you consider yourself a pizza connoisseur. If you are looking for an authentic culinary Italian experience, you found just the right place. Baonecci offers you delicious and traditional entrees from a Tuscan menu and thin-cracker, mouth-watering pizzas, each one hand rolled for you by Mamma Stefania. Baonecci offers handmade pastas made fresh everyday topped with Stefania's amazing sauces. Everything is made from scratch here. You'll be amazed by the freshness and quality of each plate and you'll be comforted by the friendly Gambaccini family who will make your experience even more "Italiana"!! We know... Our fare is not inexpensive, due to high quality ingredients used for each dish, plus for the love of an Italian woman that puts her heart in every dish that she cooks for you.. As we say in Italian " non si puo avere la botte piena e la moglie ubriaca" "you can't have both a full caraffe of wine and a drunken wife" Buon Appetito!

good local place

on the green street corridor of italian restaurants. thin crust pizzas were great especially the spicy tomato. wine prices were reasonable. service was good. just a few outside seats so if weather is good get there early. not a big place so can get crowded in a hurry.

Very unique and delicious homemade Italian. Small restaurant so call ahead for reservations. Great friendly staff. Will definitely check out again when I'm in the area.

Had a night by myself in San Fran so it is typically a casual night where I can sit at a bar , watch TV or have a small dinner and a couple of wines. this place looked great and I had a recommendation from my hotel... so let's go! Weird first interface. I was on the early side of... More

I spent a very long time searching for the perfect restaurant to celebrate our 25th anniversary, sadly this was not it. I will say that both of our pasta dishes were delicious, fresh and full of flavor. However the service was not good at all. We were brought our drinks and sat waiting, I had to call over another waiter... More

Homemade pasta with pesto sauce, pizza with truffle salami and truffle oil with arugula to top it off. A quality, gourmet meal. Enjoyed it!

This place kinda feels like Italy. It's quaint and relaxed and the focus is on the food. The pizzas were delicious and the waiters were lovely. Overall we had a really good time here and really enjoyed our meal.

As a long-time San Francisco resident, I believe this is the perfect Italian restaurant for San Francisco: great food and wines, a cozy interior, and the old world charm and hospitality of its Tuscan (and recent immigrant) owners. Their inventive thin crust pizzas (e.g. pears and gorgonzola), lasagnas (made by one talented chef/mom), and calzones are exemplary. Best of all... More

My wife and I were doing a city bus tour and got off at the North Beach stop. I had a calzone. My wife had pizza that had curled pears. Both were so good. Service was great. Made you feel welcome and at home

Probably the best thin crust pizza I had in San Francisco. Their vegetarian eggplant parmesan was also delicious.

While one of the best restaurant experiences I've ever had, will not please all. THE POSITIVE: Stefannia, cook and mother of the family staff, prepares the best thin crust pizza I've ever had and a rarity in San Francisco, Note that the defining ingredients are served fresh and cooked appropriately (if at all) so that they retain their delicate taste,... Staying in North Beach / Telegraph Hill

Neighborhood Profile
North Beach / Telegraph Hill
The aroma of freshly roasted coffee beans, the sounds of opera, and the sights of the romantic Italian ristorante come together to create the charming neighborhood of North Beach, once the stomping grounds for the Beatnik Generation. Although parts of North Beach are known for nightlife that’s not always suitable for younger visitors, few neighborhoods in the city exude as much European charm and style. Peruse a bookstore for the literature of Kerouac, Ferlinghetti and Ginsberg, grab some gelato and head to Washington Square for a perfect afternoon of people watching. Just east of North Beach, the hills and staircases of Telegraph Hill are a unique delight. At its peak, the art deco Coit Tower provides sweeping panoramic views of the bay and city. The beautifully landscaped Filbert Street Steps, a street too steep for a roadway, rewards those willing to hike uphill. Keep your ears open and you might even hear the squawk of the wild parrots who call this neighborhood home.
