Ever since I had my first real fondue on a blustery night in Colonia, Uruguay, I crave it when the weather gets gloomy. Now I'm not trying to be exotic about the Uruguay thing, I'm just a very unadventurous and picky eater and had kept away from fondue (except chocolate) because of the funny... read more

This was a fantastic find! I always recommend getting out of the touristy areas to find the best food. Great service and one fondue definitely served two easily. The John Wayne movies behind the bar were kind of fun too!

I didn't know what to expect when showing up at this very quirky, small, cowboy themed bistro. Staff was friendly, space was ok except for limited tables. Menu is limited to basically a few types of fondue, served with different types of dipping breads and vegetables. The fondue pot is smallish, but the classic version tasted fine. You might still... We love fondue so excited for this experience. The restaurant is SMALL, but well done. The staff is friendly and good. The cheese fondues were good, however not the best ever. The dipping food was good, be sure to order the meat if you want substance. The best hands down is the dark chocolate, with a close second of the... More

This place is absolutely excellent, without fear of over selling the place, you would be a fool not to try. The food is all prepared fresh in the open kitchen in the back of the restaurant and tastes fantastic. Friendly staff and reasonable prices make this place a unique dining experience when visiting San Francisco.

2 couples traveling together, we had dinner at Fondue Cowboy before a show. It's a small place, so reserve or plan on a wait. The owners are friendly and very engaged. The food is simple but different, nicely prepared and makes for a fun evening. $75 per couple covered drinks and tip, but no appetizers or deserts. I'd definitely recommend... More

We had such a great time here. We had booked this through Open Table and saws the reviews which said it was an experience. We had a great time. The restaurant will only seat 20 or so people so you definitely need to make reservations. We had 2 different types of cheese fondues , which comes with potatoes, broccoli, bread,... More

After a less than stellar dinner at an upscale restaurant, we were thrilled to eat at a more casual place, and who doesn't love fondue? The theme and decor were a lot of fun. The drinks were delicious (cocktails were wine-based variations on the classics), as was the food. And the food was a great value. Each item serves two... More

Fabulous service with great recommendations. The outlaw was great for dinner but dark chocolate dessert was magnificent with great fruit to accompany it. Great dinner for two!

I took my 17 year old granddaughter to the Fondue Cowboy before attending "Wicked" at the ORpheum Theater. It turned out to be a fun birthday celebration. The restaurant is cozy, the service prompt, and old black and white cowboy movie on the screen. The fondue serving was generous for two. Pickles dipped in fondue? Yes, and tasty! Parking is... More

Staying in SoMa

Neighborhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighborhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighborhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
