Better than Ghirardelli ice cream

Hidden gem between the Cannery buildings on the wharf. All local homemade ice cream. A treat! We especially liked the mock chip.

Support you local businesses. Try Normans out. It was recommended to us by a service worker at a restaurant we enjoyed while in SF. Worth the trip. Awesome hot fudge sundaes made w/Belgian chocolate prepared in the shop. Prices more reasonable than the competition down the street.

We had the Oreo and the Chocolate Caramel. Both were terrific. The couple that owns the place and runs it is amazing, welcoming and friendly. Make you feel right at home! Great spot to make a stop and enjoy a cup of ice cream!!!

Stopped by here and enjoyed the tasty tropical ice cream flavors. They use really tropical fruits to make the ice creams. No artificial flavors here. The ice cream was yummy and the Filipino couple that runs it are very nice. It is kind of hidden from the street, but we were glad we walked by and tried their ice creams.

Went to see Norman based on his awesome reviews. The shop looked like something from the 80s and had a really genuine feel to it. It was spotlessly clean and Norman greeted us with his friendly smile and welcoming voice. I had the Oreo ice cream with a little hot fudge sauce and it was out of this world. I... More

The ice cream was nice but I'm not sure if I'd say "the best ice cream in San Francisco". It is more expensive here and I'm not sure why. I cost $5.95 for a small cone. Norman's use Mitchell's ice cream which we believe that it's local.

This is a small Ma & Pa ice cream store. The owners are very friendly. Because the store is small you don't have 31 flavor options but what they do have is excellent and reasonably priced. The area has a small courtyard to sit in and enjoy your dessert. Drinks are available and other ice cream items as well.

My wife and daughter had a craving for a milkshake after dinner on Fisherman's Wharf in the Ghirardelli Square area, and Ghirardelli's is the obvious choice. But with a line out the door and down the sidewalk, we quickly decided against that. So we wandered around the wharf, and just happened to stumble upon Norman's. What a find! It's a... More
