On the corner just north of Union Square. Outdoor seating available, we picked in side since it was still a little cool outside. Breakfast and lunch a sure thing here, pancakes, eggs ,pastry. We liked the place you should also.

My kids and I were on a vacation in SF with my girlfriend and her kids and we were staying at the Hotel Triton next door to Cafe de la Presse. The front desk person at Triton let us know that breakfast was available (to purchase) at the cafe next door in the morning for convenience. On a Saturday morning,... More

I used to make breakfast at this place part of my yearly ritual visit to SFO for the Speciality Food Show every January. I also used to stay at the Triton Hotel which is next door. I no longer stay at the Triton but made the long walk from the W to fulfill my annual "French" breakfast here. No more!... More

Food was excellent and bread and butter divine. Was pleasantly surprised to learn there was a back restaurant as the "cafe" section up front was too chaotic. Real arrogant, crappy waiter but food made up for it. Nice quiet atmosphere and others refilling bread and water as well as delivering food made the experience more bearable.

It is locatated just in front of Chinetown in one pretty area full of restaurants and cafè... It has very nice indoor, stuff is friendly, but it is pretty expensive.. the quality of food is medium-high.. However, it was pleasent evening and I would go there again..

In the past my adult daughter and I had a lovely meal at Cafe de la Presse so we decided to return again on our recent long weekend in The City. Walking distance to our hotel made it convenient. Things have changed, folks. I ordered a specialty drink that I remembered was especially nice as a cocktail. By the time... More

Go for brunch. food is fine. adequate taste and preparation. unruly and loud with a line out front. GET A RESERVATION. try to sit all the way in back against the back wall. Street parking usually impossible. there are better choices nearby, but this place may be cheaper.

Best latte and mocha we had while visiting San Francisco over the holidays, even got a latte to go after enjoying one there! Croissants were also very good (had a plain one and an almond one). Am picky about lattes and would go out of my way to visit here for one in the future.

My son took me here for a Christmas gift. I was very excited to be going to a French restaurant in San Francisco. We went on the Saturday after Christmas but got a table immediately even though it was 11 am and brunch was just getting ready to begin. The only thing that really felt French was the way the... Visited for dinner which was disappointing, the food not great, and basically wouldn't bother going again. Compared to some other meals we had this was the most overpriced for the quality of food and service. They didn't have the starter I selected (goat's cheese) so I tried the bacon lardons with poached egg salad starter, it was fine but the... More
