This place was recommended to me by the staff at the hotel I stayed in as the place they had breakfast. I needed an early breakfast as I was booked on a boat trip and this was just a few yards away from the hotel. Advertised that they opened at 07:00 but didn't actually open for another 5 or 10... This tiny breakfast spot is one of our favorite places to visit when we stay in union square. We try something new each time, and we are never disappointed. This time we really enjoyed the spinach cheddar scramble, sailor's hash and of course, the millionaires bacon.

Visited after the great reviews on TA - and they weren't wrong. Definitely worth the visit. Good food, freshly prepared in front of you. Menu has a good selection of items of the sort you would expect in an American breakfast place, efficient service and they keep the tables moving whilst never making you feel rushed or hassled - so... This little coffee shop is next door to the Hotel Mark Twain. We waited 20 minutes in line but the food was great and so were the prices. The coffee was excellent. We ate there 2 days in a row. If. I was around the hotel at lunchtime I would have gone there again.

The concierge recommended this place and we were shocked at how small it was but truly the line went fast and the food was great. I love the small family biz! Order the fresh fruit it is a piece of artwork! Yum and so fresh. The bacon is great too. Really the line goes fast.

Long que outside restaurant indicated quality, the place was also recommended by the consigliere at the Hilton Union Square Hotel. Not to many tables in the shop, but fast service so waiting time was short. Excellent food, and big portions. Highly recommended.

Cozy Coffee Shop (more of restaurant) . We ate at three different spots near Union Square (Lori's and Pinecrest) and liked this one the best.

I was amazed by the dishes they could crank out in such a tiny restaurant. Yes, the seating is limited, but they are able to keep the tables turning so we didn't have to wait too long. Great selections, good food, and generous portions. Bacon, hashbrowns, fresh fruit, homemade jams all were excellent. If you're looking for a great breakfast... More

If you are ever in SF do yourself a favor and treat yourself to a meal at the Taylor Street Coffee Shop. I enjoyed breakfast there and it was one of the best breakfast meals I've ever eaten. I would suggest that you get the fresh fruit with your meal--- it's like $1 upcharge and well worth it. The fruit... More
