Tony’s Pizza on Stockton Street in the North Beach section of San Francisco is a local legend and media favorite. There is an excellent reason; it is the best pizza in the city. I have to admit I am an Illinois native and prefer Chicago style pizza that has a thick crust. I am not a real paper thin crust... More

Award winning pizza of every description. Maybe the best Pizzaria in the United States. If you love pizza and know the difference between good, better and "the best" go there. Sometimes there is a line to get in .

My husband ordered a New York 22", for him and our 3 kids and they ate the entire pizza. They loved it. I had steamed vegetables with grilled chicken and that was also delicious. Our waitresses was great and supper friendly. We will definitely go back our next time in San Francisco.

They open at 12. We waited an hour to be seated. There is a grassy park across the street that you can hang out and wait in. The restaurant will text you when your table is ready. The Napolean Margherita was $19 for six slices. It was super thin and very soggy. It only had a light tomato sauce and... More

This is a place that makes me wish I lived in SF and could come here again and again. Tony offers so many types of pizza, all cooked with different doughs and at different temperatures so that it's authentic to the style. I wish I could go and try something different each time, because I'll bet it's all good. The... More

According to our Wild SF tour guide, this guy won the world championships in pizza making. Hard to believe at first, I will gladly believe this story after trying two slices in the sun-soaked terrace (which apparently exists in San Fransisco in December). Any pizza enthusiast visiting San Fransisco should go here.

We went on a Saturday night- the wait was 90 minutes at 5pm. They confirm your reservation with a text and a second text lets you know they are ready to seat you. This gives you the freedom to explore the surrounding area of Little Italy. The food and service were excellent- the Pizza Romana was amazing and easily served... More

We visited here by chance, happening upon it via Tripadvisor mobile when we were out for a walk one afternoon. Were surprised by the line even prior to the restaurant opening, and waited about 45 minutes, chatting with the locals standing in front of us. They assured us the wait was worth it and suggested we order the award-winning margherita... More

We came here as a party of seven, which was a challenge to seat at this small restaurant (or anywhere in SF for that matter..). We ended up splitting our party into two to make seating easier, however both table came available at the same time and were right next to each other, so it worked out nicely. We arrived... More

Context: we've been twice, 2 of us both at off hours like at 4:30 on a Friday and 4 on a Thursday Atmosphere: crowded, chaotic and loud. It is a tourist destination but it doesn't really matter. It's just a loud, busy place with potential long waits. Arriving at the off times will reduce the wait somewhat. Our waits were... More
