Top-notch Mexican food

Don't miss this place - while far from the faux-Mexican or Tex-Mex more commonly found, the flavors and combinations are profound, deep, and elegantly presented. We tried seven dishes, none were less than stellar. Can't wait to return, to try the rest of the menu! Carnitas - sublime Beef Stew... read more

This restaurant was everything we hoped it would be. Four of us ate together. We ordered many dishes to share and were so happy! The food was outstanding and authentic. The margaritas were very good. Our waitress was very informative and shared her recommendations on what to order. We enjoyed the popsicles for dessert (chocolate and aguave) - must have... More

Taken here during a visit to San Francisco by my son who now lives there. We arrived early evening and were seated immediately, but the restaurant was full soon after so a reservation would be a good idea. Great food and excellent service. We were a party of five and took the opportunity to share a wide variety of dishes.... More

Off the beaten path for tourists but well worth the trek. Do have all their signature dishes including the carnitas. If you have a car there is ample parking in the lot- quite a pleasure in this city.

My son and I went to Nopalito for dinner on a friend's recommendation without a reservation and were seated within five minutes. The restaurant was clean and the staff was friendly. I order a tamal with butternut squash, it was delicious creamy and a little sweet but balance with a hint of jalapeño. I had the Sangria which was strong... More

We walked into a very busy Nopalito today with a reservation. After a 45 minute wait, the hostess told us we were next and would be seated soon. We watched what we thought was our table being prepared but were then told we couldn't have that table because there was a group coming with small children. They instead gave us... More

Delicious Mexican food. I had the Mole and it was as good as what I have had in Mexico before. Nice relaxed atmosphere. We called ahead to reserve a table and didn't have to wait too long when we got there.

Let me start by saying that I have eaten almost everything from the dinner menu (minus the chips, totopos and the mole) and I've tried every drink. I also live in LA but come to San Francisco to visit my boyfriend. It's the 1st place I go to when I arrive and the last when I leave. I am in... More

My wife and I traveled to SF and we wanted to experience various food. After picking Nopalito from a list of best Mexican in SF; which is a wonder to me how they made it on that list in the first place The atmosphere does not give the sense that you are in a Mexican restaurant more like a pub.... We got this rec from friends, but hadn’t planned to seek it out Then, wandering out of GG Park and needing lunch, there it was! Glad we got there: service was friendly, food was very good. SO thought the tacos de pescado were the best she had our whole trip (and she’s very particular about this favorite food), and I... More
