Not your average Mexican food

This was my first time at Nopalito and there was a long wait so we placed our name on the wait list. They would text you when your table was ready (great idea). Place was very lively with many families seen having lunch there. I shared a plate of huarache, which had beef brisket, and fish tacos... read more

I tried calling to see if they could make any of their meals vegan but they had a long automated answer and then gave an option to talk to a human (in the kitchen) - I choose that option and the phone rang for about 2 minutes before I gave up. (The location was open when I called too). Took... More

The place was crowded and the overall volume was high, but what does that matter when you can forget time and place and simply get lost in one of the best mexican dishes there is. Me and my wife loved the food and drinks. We also got ourselves one popsicle each which was to die for. If you want Great... More

Really enjoyed our meal here. We were staying in an apartment just nearby and stumbled across Nopalito. The place was comfortably busy and we were seated immediately. All 3 of our group opted for the steak option. Was delicious and looked sensational. It was a deceivingly large portion. I'd recommend that dish!

Part of me doesn't want to rate this restaurant so highly because it will make it even busier, but it is the finest Mexican dining in San Francisco and the team and casual dining experience are amazing

This restaurant was recommended to us by friends and it did not disappoint. We came about two in the afternoon and there was no wait. They bring out some fried garbanzo beans for you to snack on. We ordered some fish tacos and a quesadilla. The fish taco was ok, but the Quesadilla Roja con Chicharrón was to die for.... More

We spent the day at Golden Gate Park playing disc golf, visiting the gardens, hiking, etc. local tipped us off to this restaurant across the street from the park. What an amazing place! Menu says sustainable and organic, service was great, relaxed atmosphere, and the food was so delicious. I highly recommend the carnitas. Wish we could have eaten there... More

Don't miss this place - while far from the faux-Mexican or Tex-Mex more commonly found, the flavors and combinations are profound, deep, and elegantly presented. We tried seven dishes, none were less than stellar. Can't wait to return, to try the rest of the menu! Carnitas - sublime Beef Stew - Soooo tasty, a little salty at first impression, but... More

This restaurant was everything we hoped it would be. Four of us ate together. We ordered many dishes to share and were so happy! The food was outstanding and authentic. The margaritas were very good. Our waitress was very informative and shared her recommendations on what to order. We enjoyed the popsicles for dessert (chocolate and aguave) - must have... More

Taken here during a visit to San Francisco by my son who now lives there. We arrived early evening and were seated immediately, but the restaurant was full soon after so a reservation would be a good idea. Great food and excellent service. We were a party of five and took the opportunity to share a wide variety of dishes.... More
