This restaurant was such an amazing experience, that I would head here first when craving Italian food in SF. Our party consisted of 3 Foodies. Two from NYC and one from Austin - thus people who know what excellent cuisine is. I cross referenced this restaurant with other review sites. It is in a slightly odd location under a viaduct... Food was terrific. We had the rabbit, the lamb ragu, the orechiette w/sausage and a veal saltimbocca. We also had a salad and a lentil/sausage soup for apps which were both quite good. The tiramasu was just ok, a little bland and the place had AC blowing very strong even thought it was cold outside.

La Briciola So for me, this was a rather different Italian resturant. Location seems a little on the outskirts of downtown. Inside building is all hard surfaces (ceiling, floor, walls) so it can be very noisy, even for a relatively small resturant. Food wise, depends on what you like. Most sauces I saw or tried were seemingly beef based, little... More

This place is a very nice restaurant with good service. They were able to serve about 25 of us without missing a beat. I would definitely go back.

I used to live only a block away from La Briciola, so I'm not sure how it's taken me this long to actually visit for the first time: the experience was fantastic! I went with a group of seven friends, and we were all really pleased. The service was friendly and courteous, and the food was even better. I had... More

The service and bread/tapenade were the best part about the meal. We had a great waiter who steered us to some delicious wine, but should have strongly discouraged us from the Polpo (octopus) appetizer. Sadly, the Polpo was pulpy and chewy. Yuk! Our waiter was great about replacing the dish and suggested a salmon carpaccio. It was very tasty, but... More

La Briciola is a small neighborhood Italian restaurant that also is one of the best in San Francisco. The staff remembers you from previous visits, the food is fantastic, and like many local restaurant the location is hard to find and a bit scary. But it's worth the walk or short ride from Market Street, very worth it.

The best thing about this restaurant is their delightful wait staff They are friendly, knowledgeable and eager to please and better still the food is great as well. Try their buffalo mozzarella appetizer with prosciutto! The main courses are divided between "land" and "sea" but regardless of which you prefer go with their fresh pasta; it is wonderful! Their desserts... More

While the food was fine, I specifically ordered the pasta without a particular seafood, substituting shrimp. The waiter assured me it was not a problem. 30 mins later, and the ingredient was prominently displayed on top and the waiter proudly told me the kitchen decided I needed it. Um. No. No. No. Ever heard of food allergies? no. They remade... More

We stopped here walking back to our car from a Giants game and were pleasantly surprised at what a great place it is. I'd noticed the place before and it was very inviting: a warm and beautifully appointed little Italian bistro. Even though we arrived late in the evening & only wanted something simple, the waiter was very welcoming and... More
