The best part of our experience was our server, Leila. She had great knowledge of the entire menu, and was super friendly! The food was delicious, service was perfect. I would highly recommend 5A5. Ask for Leila!!

I had a File Meneon in this restaurant and it was super delicious. The meat almost melted in my mouth. Our waitress was super friendly and very polite. She spend a lot of time explaining their menu to us and gave us an exceptional service.

My wife and I were in need of a great meal for our first night in SF, and 5A5 did not disappoint one bit. We didn't have a reservation, but only needed to wait ~15 minutes (8pm on a Tuesday). Our waiter was excellent, very helpful and accommodating. The bacon bread was a fantastic starter, followed by Waygu beef sashimi... More

We are not big fans of steakhouses, in general, though have had many enjoyable meals at several. One that we have enjoyed has been Alexander's Steakhouse in San Francisco, in the spot of the old Restaurant Bacar (which we also enjoyed). While not from that Alexander's, the chef at 5A5, Chef Allen Chen, was Executive Sous Chef at the Cupertino... More

Brilliant food but not cheap. We went on a monday night and it was a bt quiet but the food was amazing. I had fillet mignon which was cooked just right and a very tasty piece of beef. The Peanut butter opera cake was delicious and not too sweet. Well worth a visit.

Went on a Sunday night, easy to get a reservation which didn't appear to be necessary. Also was half off a bottle of wine! Unsure if that is every Sunday. 6 oz fillet was perfectly prepared. Mashed potatoes with maple bacon were very good. Brussels sprouts were good, but too much citrus. Great service. The waygu was the highlight, but... More

Hamachi bite, Suzuki, Tuna Tataki and followed by the Lobster Tempura....the perfect small portions to accompany cocktails and great company. Delicious seafood presented in interesting and creative ways and a bar and wait staff that are both helpful and gracious. Main seating was full (recommend making reservations) so we sat at the bar. The bartender made excellent recommendations for our... More

I ate here with a large group (25) on June 30. Group dinners are often mediocre but this was great. We had two seafood appetizers, the one with ginger was exceptionally good. The salmon I ordered was delicious and the chocolate dessert creamy and just the right touch. The Pomerol wine we chose was also great. The staff were fun... More

Outstanding and surprise experience. I don't even like steak a great deal but this experience has ruined me for any other steak in the future. I also liked the ambiance a great deal: sufficiently intimate to have a private conversation and comfortable as well.

We have just enjoyed a fantastic Wagyu experience at the 5A5. The steak was so tender it melts in your mouth and bursts with flavour, you certainly did not need the awesome steak knifes provided! The ambience was exceptional and it was truly an evening to savour and remember
