Steak house with nice lounge

Came here as we're both steak lovers, and we had a great meal and a good time. The setting is very nice, and the lighting is bright enough to read the menu and soft enough to be pleasant. Our server asked if we were first timers, and we said 'yes'. Shortly thereafter he came to our table with a... read more

The service from the ease of handling a last minute reservation as well as accommodating a special table request turned me on immediately. George, the Maitre'D, is the professional responsible for the superior front desk service. As for food, it is all superb. The steak selections, side dishes, appetizers are all of the highest quality, well prepared, presented well and... More

This place was really good, the lobster tempura is a must! My husband and I both ordered steak, it came with some out of the ordinary garnishes, but I think that is what they are known for and it was good. It was a little pricey, but the food was good, and as I said, be sure to get the... More

We are on hols in SF and used TA to find us a steakhouse we could walk to from the hotel. Booking was easy on line and we left a note letting them know we couldn't eat dairy or wheat. When we turned up, everyone knew about the note and let us know dishes would be adapted without any issue... More

Party of 5, all hungry after 2 to 4 hours of mountain biking from Sausalito to hills of Mill Valley headed for dinner with table reserved previous night. This steak lounge finds its origins from traditional american steak house with clear asian fusion twist. The appetizers took their insipirations from japanese kitchen, like lobster in tempura style. The main courses... More

We came with a large group and set up was perfect. The bar with a piano player was a great touch while waiting on all guests to arrive. The restaurant has an upper level ( very few steps) which gave it a private feel for our group of 40. Service was perfect, food very good. Ambience is attractive with dim... More

This place is really cool! Definitely a lounge-y feel to it, with dim mood lighting and music. It was a bit loud in the restaurant, but it was also 8pm on a Saturday night so that's to be expected. I ordered my steak medium rare and definitely received a medium well dish, but otherwise the appetizers and other courses were... More

Our waiter was delivering service as it wold have been a Michelin restaurant catering the most prominent guests in the state. She could get a job to any king or queen. The oysters and starters were perfect. The Kobe meat was in fact not the best quality meat I regret to say. Then the American meat was more perfect. The... More

In a busy/noisy lounge 5A5 deliver top notch service. I had the Bone In NY cut with Bacon n Egg. The bacon n egg is a great combo to the NY cut. It gives the extra flavor (that really shouldn't be needed...). The meat was great cooked but not world class quality. It didn't have that extra tender taste of... More

Neighborhood Profile
Financial District
The Financial District lies just east of Chinatown but can seem a world apart given it’s San Francisco’s version of Wall Street. The rush of business people make up a hectic weekday and add to a frenetic pace of life, but visitors who spend a few hours walking the narrow streets will be rewarded with fine examples of historic and contemporary architecture, including the iconic Transamerica Pyramid. After business hours, bars and restaurants quickly fill up with happy hour revelers. Stocks aren’t the only kind of market being followed, the Ferry Building Marketplace on the Embarcadero is a gourmet food emporium and farmers market that will satisfy anyone working up an appetite.
