Food here is always an interesting and updated interpretation of Vietnamese cuisine (think Chinese combined with French, and fresh, current prep). We had a great time, though we could hear the conversation next to us quite well. The personnel knew it was our anniversary and treated us especially well; refilled my champagne glass; that was a first anywhere.

The Slanted Door remains a hopping, lively spot & still puts out flavorful & unique Vietnamese Fusion food. It has been a while since I ate here & lunch on recent Saturday with friends was amazing. we had a booth overlooking the bay & watched the sailboats & ships while enjoying our choice dishes, family style. 2 salads- green papaya... If you are visiting SF I think you should stop here to eat and enjoy the view of the Bridge. The food is excellent. It's family style so the dishes are to share. One or two dishes per person should be more than enough. Also, the oyster are a most. They are really good.

I had my first experience here in August 2013 and it was the best of a 10 day stay in San Francisco. I returned again this August (almost a year to the date) and was still in awe of the experience. The food (Vietnamese with a lean toward Asian fusion) remains a total sensory delight and the wines are extraordinary.... More

The Slanted door was an amazing treat with asian fusion food and a fun vibe. We ordered a wide variety of food and shared it all. The crispy spring rolls were delicious and my group really enjoyed the Clay Pot chicken and the scallops. I had a lime ginger cocktail that was so good I want to recreate it at... More

Went here based on recommendations by several people I met on a business trip through California and was able to squeeze in for lunch on labor day. The restaurant was basically booked, but as I was on my own they were able and kind enough to get me place at the bar. And how lucky I was... ended up having... More

Amazing food, great service and a good atmosphere. The food is the only real reason to go, must try the cellophane crab noodles and the pork ribs. Not the trendiest place in town, but again, the food is worth the trip.

I had a wonderful meal at the slanted door, great service, awesome food! I had a sampling of appetizers from the waitress' recommendations, including oysters, dumplings and more. I'd recommend it.

On recommendation from our concierge, we went without a reservation on a Saturday evening and was able to wait about 30 mins for a bar seat. Service is quick and helpful and the dishes were tasty. The imperial roll, crab and cellophane noodles, and scallops were perfect for two. For dessert, the chocolate mouse with pistachio gelato and grapefruit purée... More

The restaurant is located in the Ferry Building, which I guess justifies the prices. We came for lunch with a group of folks from work; there were 8 of us altogether. We didn't have reservations, but we were accommodated quite fast. For parties of 7 or more they only serve "family style meal" priced almost $50/ person. We got to... More
