A bit pricey, hard to get in (so plan ahead) but so worth it. The Cellophane Noodle dish is beyond compare.

All of our dishes were excellent: imperial rolls, chicken salad, beef vermicelli, spicy squid, and chard. Service took a little while to get going, but after that it was well paced, with the dishes brought serially in a logical order. This lunch for four came to $130, including four glasses of wine, so for me this is would be a... More

Go for the view and ask for a booth as then all the guests can see the light show on the bridge that comes on every night at dark or sit outside at lunch and watch the ferries come on and out. The food os always ok but you can get much better food elsewhere for a lot cheaper prices.... More

On our trip to San Francisco we wanted to try some different restaurants that are not readily available at home. The Slanted door didn't dissapoint. From the outstanding water view and ambiance to the delicious food, we throughly enjoyed it. The service was outstanding. They even made room oldie our baby stroller. For appetizers; the spare ribs were great but... More

We called Slanted Door to make a reservation 1.5 month prior to coming to San Fran. I have severe nut allergies and knew it would be a long shot to eat at a Vietnamese restaurant but felt there was no harm is calling to ask. We called and grilled them and they said it was not a problem and they... More

Asked our waitress for recommendations and she was excellent. Papaya salad, crispy imperial shrimp rolls, caramelized shrimp entree, bok choy, and jasmine rice- all shared. This was plenty for my wife and I and the tastes were wonderfully new, fresh, and very flavorful. The place was crammed with folks, so be sure to get a reservation. That works a little... More

My word for word email to Slanted Door: Dear Sirs, My wife and I had an early dinner at Slanted Door on our 30th anniversary, Monday of this week. It was my second visit there, my wife's first. My comments that follow are based on the 2 experiences that I had. We arrived before opening, and were about 20 persons... More

A fantastic contemporary take on Vietnamese inspired cuisine. This spacious, open glassed restaurant overlooks Bay Bridge , you really do eat with your eyes. I came here for lunch, my second visit and this time I ordered the organic Chicken claypot with caramel sauce, thai chilli & fresh ginger. Having had the caramelised claypot catfish on a previous visit ,this... More

We found this restaurant on the hedonist guide and it's brilliant. We went for lunch and we really liked everything about this place. The duck salad was really brilliant and although they were awkward to eat, the imperial rolls were also great to share. Highly recommend.
