Good food, but seems very touristy. Lovely view of the Bay Bridge, but tables are very close together, noisy. Not my first choice for a dining experience. Didn't appreciate our "couldn't be bothered" hipster waiter either. We're foodies, so we bought Charles Phan's Vietnamese cookbook, and will make some of his recipes at home.

A wonderful dinner for 4 with visiting family. One of our party was gluten intolerant and she said like she felt the waiter was her new best friend he was so attentive to her GF needs. All the food and drink was excellent. The Slanted Door Spring Rolls were so light and delicious and the Clay Pot Chicken was out... More

I can't rate much except the rudeness of the hostess. We had an 8:00 reservation, arrived at 7:55 and were informed of a 5-10 minute wait - completely acceptable. After checking in 2 more times, the hostess told us at 8:30 that there wasn't any way to know when we would be seated and we left. If you have all... More

Four years ago, when I was in SF for a conference, I tried to get a reservation to the SD, but could not, it was all booked up. So I promised myself that I would go to the SD next time I was in SF. I made a reservation way in advance this time, and was very excited to spend... More

Read many reviews about the Slanted Door before we departed for San Francisco and felt it would be a real treat for our grandsons. Needless to say this was above and beyond what was expected. The service was prompt and efficient and the suggestions the server made turned out to be right on. The food was delicious. Not one dish... More

Ok - so, was recommended this restaurant by a couple of friends. Looked it up, reviews were mixed, but booked it anyway. Checked with concierge at my hotel who said ignore poor reviews, just sour grapes, it was worthwhile. Also - need to qualify my review here, as often poor reviews can be based upon a personal taste, or lack... More

Our dinner at the Slanted Door was excellent, service was prompt and friendly and I will remember the raw scallops with caviar for the rest of my life! In fact my group voted it best dish of the holiday (and we went to the French Laundry!). The only down side was the 'donkey and goat' wine which sounded like fun... More

i guess the best way to rate this restaurant is to say i would probably not go back, i would go elsewhere. even though the ribs we very good the rest of the meal was just ok and the waiter was a little odd. the electricity went out while we were there and basically we had to wait for it... More

The Asian food at this restaurant is served family style so you can share the different dishes. The noodle dishes are particularly good. It's pretty busy at lunch but not too noisy. The view of the bay is wonderful.

Enjoyed everything we tried. My husband and I ordered 3 appetizers to share and one main meal to split. The oysters/springs rolls/tuna tartare were awesome. We ordered a noodle dish for our main course and it was delicious. I would highly recommend this restaurant. Definitely need reservations. It was packed. Has a lovely location and view of the Bay Bridge.
