Probably my best restaurant meal in many years

amazing. Finally something that lives up to the hype!!! Started out with Jicama/papaya salad (super fresh), Vietnamese pancake (MUST. DO.), and then I had shrimp with peanut/bean sprouts type fixings, DH had chicken hot pot. I would recommend all of these without reservation. Had a glass of rose... read more

The food was fresh and amazing. We started withe the spring rolls, which were very good. The shaking beef is one of their signature dishes and was excellent, also the clay pot chicken. A great cocktail list. A good location on the wharf with great views from inside the restaurant. The service was very good, our waitress forgot one of... More

I had the cellophane noodles with crab and found the crab to be dry and the flavours predictable and unexceptional. The texture of the noodles was clumpy making it awkward to eat with the supplied chopsticks. The organic grapefruit juice freshly squeezed was a highlight though and might have been the tastiest grapefruit juice I've ever had.

Recommend the Diakon Rice Cakes and the Grilled Salt and Pepper Birkshire. Great food but hundreds of people inside and very noisy. Not sure if this is how they like to dine in the States but bit too intense for me. We also waited 15min or so to be seated and thats with a reservation

Planned to eat at the oyster place next door but the line was intolerable. Turns out this place had a 40 minute wait for lunch as well but 10 minutes at the bar netted us 2 seats for lunch with a very helpful attentive bar keep. Rice noodles with Dungeness crab and a side of baby Bok Choy hit the... More

We ate here for lunch, loved it, came back, ate dinner the next night, loved it and went the following night just for dessert! We really enjoyed the noodles and crabmeat. IT was the rice noodles with gobs of dungeness crabmeat! We also had the ribs. So good! The dessert menu also has wine pairings and we tried that. Wow!... More

We had a great New Years day dinner here with two of my old college buddies and their respective spouses who live in the Bay Area. It was a cold, but clear night and from our table we had a nice view of the Bay and Golden Gate Bridge. The food was excellent and great for sharing - my personal... More

Great location on the wharf. Although it calls itself a Vietnamese restaurant we found the food to be the same modern cuisine you now get in most restaurants. Overall the food is tasty but nothing amazing. Service is very average. Nonetheless would recommend this place to a friend visiting SF.

Yes, it's expensive, crowded, noisy. But the food and service are always excellent and the wine list is unusual--worth a visit for those who want a wine perfectly matched to the Asian food--and a wine you can't find elsewhere. I often get the manila clams and the tofu skin dish, the papaya salad, the cabbage salad. Desserts are good too,... More
