Nice but Pricey

Had a very good meal, but thought it was very much over priced. But I should have expected that in a very nice hotel like Saint Francis and in San Francisco. Food was excellent and staff was friendly

We went to the Oak Room and found it to be just OK The waiter is the bartender, the prime rib was somewhat tough When I asked for a Grey Goose gimlet with Rose's lime juice they had no idea what I was asking for Somewhat disappointed

Steeped in atmosphere this was the perfect spot for lunch before we sailed out of San Fransisco but the day we were there the place was horribly understaffed ( basically 2 servers covered the restaurant); it took a long (10 minutes) for water and bread but things took a turn for the better after that. The Oak Room trio had... More

Buffet was really extensive and very tasty. You can also order off the menu. We purchased the room with breakfast, so we could do either.

We had breakfast here 2 mornings on our most recent trip. The buffet is horrible - had it the first day & didn't repeat the mistake the second morning. The food ordered directly from the menu the 2nd day was okay, but not memorable. The decor isn't "historic" the way the rest of the hotel is - it's more "tired"... More

We had the breakfast buffet one morning and had dinner another night. Both were excellent. My wife had an excellent pasta and had a very nice broiled fish plate. It's relatively expensive, consistent with its location in the heart of San Francisco.

I had dinner here at an overstay in the hotel. Nothing wrong, nothing really, really right. We enjoyed our meal, but trust me - you don't have to eat here. There are plenty of alternatives in the nearest neighbourhood.

Loved the fresh fruit; disliked the lukewarm oatmeal and warm yogurt. Wonderful fresh fruit juices. Slightly too much attention from the waiters - I'd be asked 3 or 4 times if I wanted juice/coffee and it got to be a bit much.

$29 for a (good) breakfast buffet. Don't get me wrong, it's a good breakfast buffet. You have your usual assortment potatoes, scrambled eggs, sausages, and bacon. It's a bit disappointing that there wasn't a better hot food selection, e.g. pancakes, waffles, perhaps an international breakfast item, etc. The fruit selection was probably the best thing about the breakfast - watermelon,...
