Classy Bar

We had a evening cocktail at the Bar late Saturday. It was packed with patrons returning from dinners and auctions. Great cocktails and ambience. Think Nob Hill's version of the bar at the Hotel Carlyle on Upper East Side.

We have always wanted to dine at the Big 4 and chose an anniversary for our first trip. Even though the Huntington Hotel has been renovated the original character has been retained. The restaurant is old world mahogany and plush upholstered booths. The restaurant style is from an bygone area and appeals to the crowd that likes to put on... More

Not to be missed if you like the old world class in a relaxed setting. The bar is small and cozy, the service is great although I probably would not choose to sit right beside the piano player if you're trying to have an intimate conversation. Head to the back of the bar instead. Everyone goes here, my wife and... More

The Big 4 at the Huntington Hotel on Nob Hill is one of the classic spots in SF. Elegant dark wood, thick leather and old photos and paintings draw you back into the time of classic San Francisco. The menu is classy. But the best feature is the bar. The most authentic hangout for many Nob Hill characters. Don't miss... More

Arrived in Nob Hill later than expected did on line booking, very efficient. Although we booked we were left waiting for about 8 mins before we were seated. There was no one to greet the dinners. By the time we were seated there were three other parties also waiting. When eventually seated waiter was great very attentive and helpful. Atmosphere... More

The convenience of having this restaurant in our hotel was amazing. It was quite popular in the evening (bar area), while more empty during the day. We had the burger in the bar area and it was the 'best burger' my husband has ever had! I don't eat a lot of burgers, so I don't know I can say that,... More

The bar and restaurant have a lovely, relaxed atmosphere, beautiful decor, friendly and attentive staff. The food was sounded simple but was excellently executed and truly delicious. Staying in Nob Hill

Neighborhood Profile
Nob Hill
Swanky and stylish, Nob Hill sits in the heart of the city and is home to amazing architecture and views. The hike to the top can be a challenging workout for those who forego a cable car ride, but they will be rewarded with some of the city’s most beautiful architecture adorning its peak. Originally populated with mansions after the Gold Rush, most if not all were devastated in the 1906 earthquake and fire that followed. Luckily all is not lost; storied hotels and Grace Cathedral surround Huntington Park. Having a drink or dinner while taking in the sunset and views at the "top of the Mark" is tough to beat.
