Delicious Mexican Food

Prepare to stand in line at this very popular Mexican restaurant. I ordered a two item combination (tamale and enchilada) and it was delicious.

Great food, well priced, good size serves, lots of choices, busy but attentive staff, would recommend a visit by all. Lots of people obviously knew about this gem

Food was excellent - lots of options for vegetarians too. Great cocktails too. Fun ambience - good place to go with friends. Can be difficult to find the place so make some time to do so if you're new to the town!

A friend of ours recommended Tropisueno to us as a good place to meet up for dinner. We checked out their website and found what looked to be a great Happy Hour menu and even better dinner menu. We were not disappointed. We arrived in SF at 4:15 pm and decided to get out of the wind and just get... More

Yummy Mexican food - pretty average menu - VERY strong drinks - Margarita's were awesome (they have two signature ones, try both!). Reasonably priced, however there is usually a wait for dinner so make a reservation.

Perfect place for a lively bite to eat with friends. It gets busy in the evening so you may wait a while on a table, but there's plenty of cocktails on offer to while away the time. Quite a modern selection of mexican dishes available. Easy on the pocket too.

Brilliant fresh food with lots of great choice on the menu. Arrived quickly, and you got as many free nachos as you could eat! I loved the classic chilli.

For years I thought the phrase "Chile Verde" meant "green meat" so you can understand how rarely I ventured there. But for about the last 30 years or so I have become obsessed with the dish. I've ordered it literally hundreds of times, garnering family disapproval of my one dish Jones. It was beginning to look like a futile search.... More

We were with three, and got a quick explanation how this place works: show/tell what you want to eat, then pay at the cashiers desk. Pick up a flag with a number, to be put on your table. Then, go the the bar and order your drinks, pay them and take them to your table; put the flag clearly visible... More

Staying in SoMa

Neighborhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighborhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighborhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
