This is a good place for breakfast. Location was not the greatest. But the service and food a remarkable. I had an andouille sausage and shrimp omelette with ghiradelli chocolate beignets. The flavor of the omelette was good with the shrimp and sausage. The beignets were warm soft w/rich chocolate in the center. The earlier you get here, the better.

Homesick for NOLA? There's a slice of it in San Francisco at Brenda's. Looks and feels like the Vieux Carre. Étouffée, Red Beans and Rice, catfish--all as authentic creole as I've had anywhere on the bayou. 'Scuse me. They call it 'French Soul Food' at Brenda's; I call it 'almost heaven.'

Was told that they don't take reservations so we decided to come bright and early for breakfast to ensure we didn't have to wait. We had the shrimp and grits along with the special of the day - crayfish and sausage pot pie served with a large side salad. Both were delicious. We were tempted to try a beignet but... More

It is just as described.....French soul food. Red beans and rice, fried chicken, biegnets. We ordered several ala carte items so we could try more than just one dish. Everything was good. I would recommend the chicken and the chicken ettoffé. Do yourself a favor and make sure you get a cream biscuit and out the peach jam that is... More

This IS the place for breakfast. Their menu is like no other. I had a crispy oyster, bacon scallion, scramble (Its called the Hangtown Fry.) with grits and biscuit which was divine with a cajun shrimp beignet. They also have Ghiradelli chocalat and apple beignets!!! They also have great cinnamon French toast or granola french toast and all types of omelets.... More

We had a late breakfast here. It was so delicious, everyone, even the pickiest eater loved it. I had the flight of beignets, one plain, one apple, one chocolate and one crawfish. So good. The crawfish was the best. If it wasn't so far from our hotel, we would have had dinner here too. Lots of great places to eat... More

I really liked this restaurant, not my favorite in SF but a great option if you're in the area. A little heavy so perfect for a hangover cure.

The crawfish beignets and grits take me back to Louisiana where I'm from. I ordered so much food I couldn't eat half of it. And, I will go back until I try everything on the menu!

Crawfish Beignets, and Shrimp, and Pork Belly and Cheesy Grits...??? We were in Creole Heaven... The next table had Eggs Benedict and Southern Fried Chicken and claimed it was the best they'd ever had... We've been to New Orleans many times, even during Mardi Gras, and never had better food...
