I'll start with the good news - the food is incredible. We came at breakfast time on a weekday (there was no wait at all) and ordered the beignet flight - which were all delicious, but huge! I ordered the shrimp & grits, and it was by far the best shrimp & grits I've ever had - those flavors were... More

Without being wordy, an excellent bohemian haunt with excellent food (brunch). Very reasonable prices and good Bloody Mary. DO NOT walk from Union Square unless you are properly accompanied.

We got at Brenda's just a bit before opening and we were not the first ones. Which made me even more curious. When the door opened I fell in love already. The music the interior, all of it. I went for the pulled pork egg benedict with grits (with cheese). My gf went for the crispy pork belly with grits... More

Expect a fast paced approach to a wait line, seating, ordering, serving…..they get it right but it is by no means a languishing kind of meal! The food speaks for itself: fresh, tasty, good portions and inviting!

We went early on a weekday and had no wait, though the restaurant was busy. Service was excellent. Only tried the beignets and cafe au lait, and felt like we were back in New Orleans! Both the plain and chocolate beignets were delicious, though the chocolate ones were very rich and hard to finish three in one sitting (we took... More

I love to travel to New Orleans for the wonderful food flavors you can experience. Brenda brought her Cajun roots to the Bay area so we can enjoy some good cooking while on the West Coast. Always interesting combinations for our gastronomical delight from Crawfish Beignets to Oysters Tchoupitoulas if you leave here disappointed, you need a new set of... More

this is the place. Place your name on the waiting list board and wait to be seated at this hole-in-the wall with understated decor including a wall of mirrors and another wall with a crawfish mural. The New Orleans jazz playing sets the mood. My black-eyed peas and rice we excellent - not too spicy or too bland. My wife's... More

The overall environment is fun and lively. The staff are friendly and efficient but unfortunately, the food was not worth the wait. The beignets were definitely the highlight of the meal. We also had the sausage gumbo, bfc, and the shrimp and feta cheese omelette. I would not come back here for anything other than getting take out beignets.

Though there was a line to get in, it moved fast. I had shrimps and grits-it was scrumptious. My friends had various appetizers - all of which were tasty. We ended up with bread pudding for dessert. Everything was filling, delicious and tasty, but these dishes are not for weight watchers. The service was excellent. On Sundays they have live... More

San Fran meets New Orleans, whats not to like. If you are in the mood for some spicy cajun cooking this place is great. Comfortable and casual but nice enough that you could bring a date, this is not a hole in the wall.
