Delicious shrimp and grits

The serving of shrimp and grits is a nice size portion ($13.75). It comes with nicely melted cheese, and a tomato bacon sauce. I was there for lunch with five other people, and everything on the table looked and smelled fabulous! I also ordered a cream biscuit ($2.25). It was better than most, but... read more

This super awesome soul food restaurant is close to Civic Center (and the Orpheum Theater). I highly recommend the Shrimp and Grits, Fried Chicken Dinner, and Crawfish Beignets. You can't go wrong with these...!

We decided to eat lunch at Brenda's before the Jersey Boys show at the Orpheum Theater. We waited outside for 45 minute. Once seated, we enjoyed good service and good food.

Great breakfast joint. Music a little too high volume but good atmosphere nonetheless. I had the seafood pasta which was much better than expected. Granted, these dishes are very heavy and buttery but tasty. The waitress who seated us was a bit gruff and unprofessional. I thought maybe they get so much business there is no need for niceties. Our... More

Wanted to really find some fried chicken so gave this place a shot. Was not expecting too much but wow the fried chicken was fantastic. Our sides were good, and the local beer selections was nice. Can't remember but the waiter recommended a beer to suit and it was spot on.

A wonderfully offbeat place for breakfast for those tired of the standard fare. It is a relatively short hop from the hotels of Union Square. The tenderloin area is not the most salubrious neighborhood in San Francisco but perfectly okay in the morning. Breakfast is chock-a block with New Orleans favorites including starting you day with beignats and strong coffee.... More

A group of us went for brunch. We happened to find this place online when searching for a brunch place. Not in the best neighborhood but there was a line outside which indicates a good place. We put our name on the chalk board (their version of a wait list; so cute) and waited about an hour. However, right next... More

Well we waited for an hour from 10 a-1115a to get a seat on a rainy day. What a disappointment. The guy said he'd called our names for 20 minutes but we had sat at the coffee place 2 doors down waiting for them to call. Beignet special was just ok. Grits ok. Peach jam ok-not very sweet and very... More

The food is tasty and fresh, you really have lots of choices so you can pick whatever suits you the best.
