Wonderful. There used to be one in Costa Rica but it has since closed :( We were so happy to walk by this one on our way to the Ferry Building and stop for lunch!! We had lunch outside on the deck. Packed. Really great service-- our waiter was wonderful- Scott S. Our waiter helped me navigate the menu and... More

We sat in their sunroom area that overlooks the water. Nice. My wife's Ahi was quite good although the serving size seemed more of that of an appetizer rather than a main course. My Cuban pork sandwich was fantastic. Good flavors. Took quite a while to be even acknowledged after we were seated. And then our waiter kept disappearing. Maybe... More

Four of us shared a selection of ceviche - very fresh flavours. The main course salmon was good, but I found the mushroom sauce to be too gloopy for my taste. The traditional Pisco Sour Peruvian cocktail was a killer!

We did NOT eat at this restaurant, but wanted to drink something. Manager John ( from Ireland) sat us down at a table with a beautiful view, told us that they were preparing for dinner, but that we were welcome to enjoy the atmosphere and brought us two glasses of Orange juice with his compliments.

We ate at La Mar at Pier 1.5 last week. The food was very good. My wife thought it was outstanding, but i thought it only "good" but either way it was unique--sort of a combination between Japanese and South American, and maybe a tough of Mexican thrown in. The "ceviches" --sorry can't remember how it was spelled----were excellent and... More

The whole interior is blues and greens with dark woods. Very relaxing. The outside terrace overlooks San Francisco Bay, the view is framed by the adjacent piers. This is Ceviche/Cebiche at its best. They have many flavor combinations: some spicier than others, wonderful fish platters, and delectable sauces. This is one of my favorite places in the City for a... More

Have been to Peru and La Mar was just as good. Ceviche of various kinds was excellent. Big restaurant with a good vibe and right on the water. Great stop after shopping and tasting at the Ferry Building. Would come again!

For something a little different, give La Mar a try. Our waiter was very helpful both in explaining the dishes and in helping the person in our party allergic to shellfish choose appropriately. This is probably an even better place for lunch on a sunny day, but even on a cool summer night, we sat on the covered deck with... More

La Mar has the freshest, most beautiful food you could ask for! The menu is extensive, and everything we ate was really good. It feels like the food is incredibly healthy as well - even though I'm sure some of it is a little indulgent! The setting is awesome; right on the water. This is a great place to be... More

I had a group over in July do we got a sampler from the group menu- ceviche, causa, anticuchos, lomo saltado-- the classics! With a lot of Americans who had never tried Peruvian food, this was a great first experience! The food was on point. Delicious and great presentation. Didn't take too long and it was waaay more than enough.... More
