Great Food, Great Place

My friends and I had dinner here on Saturday and wow! I have never had Peruvian food before and this place was surprisingly amazing! I love the décor and atmosphere - very trendy. The food was DELICIOUS! I plan to come back with my husband and can't wait to try more of the wonderful food!

We came here in between lunch and dinner on a Sunday and never had Peruvian before. It was delightful though the portions seemed small for the price. We tried the cebiche sampled but instead of the four that was offered on the menu we only got three. It would have been nice to be told beforehand because you still paid... More

After wading through the enormously crowded Ferry Building at lunch time on a Saturday we were happy to stumble on the calm and inviting La Mar restaurant serving Peruvian classics. We were seated and waited upon immediately. I ordered their fried salmon sandwich with salsa, avocado, tomato and lettuce with a side of fried potatoes. My husband ordered the Burger... More

Good food, atrocious service! We arrived early for lunch, to a near empty restaurant. It was a beautiful, sunny day in San Francisco, and I requested a patio table. I was disdainfully informed that "there were some reservations" and We could not be seated there. After requesting the patio again, and following much grumbling, we were seated on the patio,... I am a huge ceviche lover and was really looking forward to visiting this restaurant. Unfortunately, my spontaneous visit was in between the lunch and happy hour times and the staff wasn't particularly flexible when it came to sitting and menu options. They were not rude but not too delighted either. I saw another couple going through the same experience... More

We stay several days in the area, we live in the Midwest where there is not really good peruvian food. The restaurant is centrally located, with parking right across the street, valet on the next building, is on the Pier beautiful bay view. The food is excellent very close to what you would get in Lima. The servers very attentive and... More

Best octopus I've ever had and the ceviche was excellent too. Drinks were good and a great view of the bay!

Nice restaurant. I ike it very much. If you are not a fish fan, there are many other choices meat you can choose from. If you are vegetarian, there is only one dish (quinoa) you can choose. The terrace is completely covered so on sunny days, it is quite nice and bright with no annoyance of bad smell or wind.... More

Try the Cebiche - the natural dish of Peru. Fish/shellfish marinated in Leche de Tigre. Enjoy the seaside at the same time.
