The ceviche and seared tuna were excellent. I ordered grilled octopus which came out cold and my wife ordered the special (fried rice with a shrimp omelet) which was large enough feed 2 to 3 people. Our server who seemed to not care should have told us about the size of the special. Hated wasting so much food.

Had an awesome Supper Monday night at La Mar's. Had the wild salmon main, which was to dead for. Also enjoyed the Plantain chips and dips.

Just great food. The ceviche's are super and so is the chicken skewer! The ahi tuna with tamarind is an amazing combination.

I had cerviche and drinks at the bar. Ask the Asian female bartender for her amazing special Bloody Mary - really good and hot. Also, get the fried plantain chips. Great service.

This is clearly my favorite restaurant in San Francisco. Great Peruvian food, fabulous atmosphere, and great service. It's a very popular place and the pricing is fair for what you get. Never miss coming here.

The sample of ceviche as starter was very fresh and tasty. But the best dish we have tried here is def. the Lomo Saltado. Had not tasted this before and loved it. Great location to sit outside by the pier and watch the boats going in and out. Great pink cava as well. We look forward to the next visit.

Met friends here for brunch over the holiday. We had no problems finding lots of options to share - with 1 pescetarian, 1 gluten-free, and 2 omnivores. The cebiche was tasty and generous, causa was flavorful and service was attentive. We couldn't get enough of the yucca and sweet potato chips they serve (instead of bread basket). The atmosphere is... More

Have a pisco sour and settle in. Start with some ceviche (spelled cebiche here); my preference is for the classic with halibut. The causas (different types of mashed potatoes topped with small tastes of deliciousness) are a great party starter for a larger group. And the octopus was the most tender piece of octopus I have ever had. They must... More

My wife and I met our Son and his friends over the Christmas Holidays at the La Mar Cebicheria Peruana Restaurant at Pier 1.5 Embarcadero in San Francisco. We went to the Happy Hour and later were suppose to go to Dinner. But the Happy Hour was so good, we just stayed in the Bar at a table for six... More

Very, very nice ceviche was served at this restaurant, and the other dishes we had were also delicious. The atmosphere was fine, but I got the impression that the waiters were not so positive, maybe overworked? Our waiter (who served the food) spilled fluid from the ceviche on me, and barely apologised. Another waiter apparently took out the plates, that... More
