Delicious Food but Pricey

We ate here so a Friday evening. The restaurant is multilevel with a very modern bar. Reservations are necessary. Our table was very close to the next couple (it was almost as though we were sharing the table in aittle nook off to the side), but it reasly didn't bother us after a while. The... read more

Some dishes were amazing!! The butter chicken was probably the best we ever had, and the cauliflower as a starter was terrific. But there are some areas to improve - the Chai Masala was tasteless. Ruining a simple, basic drink like this is unacceptable from a restaurant in this price range. Side dishes - simple plain rice and Nan for... More

I happen to go to this place always after a 12 hours flight to the city. The food which can taste well in a jet lag taste must be good.. The Indian beer kingfisher with tandoori grill and especially aloo tiki is the best thing. The restaurant is spacious enough to find a place but I suggest to make a... More

We went for lunch at Amber and although the restaurant was a bit crowded, the buffet was plentiful. The Indian food buffet included many favorites but also some dishes that were new to me.

I absolutely love Amber Restaurant right off of Market in San Francisco. Great location, easy to walk to. Food is the BEST Indian Food I've tasted and the drinks are also fun. They will make the spices to your taste and the staff is very pleasant

We went for Saturday Lunch Buffet and had to wait a bit for the seating. I loved the mimi uttapmas as the guy was making them fresh and serving right from the pan. There was a good choice of vegetarian and non vegetarian food and everything tasted very nice. I dint get a chance to eat the dessert as I... More

Had Sunday brunch here today. The place was packed. The food options were plentiful and delicious. We were not hassled over the time we held the table. A great meal which was reasonably priced. Loved it.

Excellent food, great ambience and authentic fare. Tasty and well proportioned as well as great service and a great staff attitude. Right next to Marriott Marquis SF downtown. Steps away. Definitely needs a reservation, sometimes as early as the previous day! Jam packed at all times.

Staying in SoMa

Neighborhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighborhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighborhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
