I went to this restaurant after reading the good reviews. Well I/we were very disappointed. Service was very average. No body came to check if food was ok or any thing else needed at the table. Food is not very authentic.I am from India so well versed with indian vegetarian cuisine. I am just commenting on the vegetarian dishes so... More

This is my first negative review on TripAdvisors. I am very sorry to report that the I can not suggest eating at this restaurant. Our waiter suggested we order the Sea Bass his favorite dish on the menu. The fish we were served had a fishy taste and was clearly not fresh. (I bought this type of fish from our... More

This is our fourth trip to Amber and we always start with a Cauliflower Bezule appetizer whose subtle flavors I have failed to replicate at home. We added to this with Lotus Tikki, also novel and with a delectable sauce. We had two main dishes, Kumb Hara Pyaz Kofta and Chicen Biryani baked in a pot with a bread cover.... More

recommend reservations in advance. really good sauces and tender meats and foul . i thought there was too much mixture of dark meat on the butter chicken and chicken tikka masala dishes. maitre d and floor managers do a really bang up job and pick up the flack for inattentive waiters.

Attending conference at nearby Marriott. Dropped by, very busy but was able to have meal at bar. Very nice, not heavy food. Staff efficient but not particularly friendly.

Love it. Great flavours. Best tandoori chicken ever according to my other half. Great flavours. Naan breads really good. A bit dark and cold but well worth it for very high quality Insian style food. Lots of Indian families in which is a good sign. One of my SF favourites.

My husband and I stopped in for the lunch buffet-based on tripadvisor reviews, since the restaurant was close to our hotel. For $50.00, we got the all you can eat buffet with adequate amount of options, a basket of naan, and a free drink- we chose mimosas! The food was fabulous-you know when the restaurant was full at 2 pm... More

Last minute change of plans and we ended up at Amber because we wanted something different but close to our hotel. The food was excellent and the waitstaff was attentive. Definately a must is you want a variety of cuisine while in San Francisco.

Went here because it was close to the Moscone Conference Center. Lunch was ok, I've definitely seen better buffet with more options. Desserts were extremely bland (Kheer and Halava). Dal was ok, overall bland and overpriced food.
