This bakery just personifies Castro. The baked goods were great with some tongue in cheek selections. The service was also great! Grab a cookie or something else equally as yummy and sit in the chairs on the corner and watch Castro go by!

They sell cookies and underpants! The cookies are great and wide variety of flavours. Not expensive tho I could spend a fortune in here having a sweet tooth! The underpants fit great! Lol

If in the Castro, you definitely have to visit Hot Cookie. We popped in for an after dinner treat and were met by a guy named Castro, with a tattoo on his back that said "Castro". He was awesome! Guided us through the different options, cracked a few jokes, and overall gave us a really great first experience. We settled... More

After seeing this place on our first visit but running out of time to go here, it was fortunate that we were passing through again on our way back home. The name says it all really – hot cookies deliciously tasty with soft inside and crunchy outside. Weather they are anatomically correct is questionable but they are certainly fun. Tried... More

OK, seriously. These folks know how to make cookies. We got cookies in the afternoon and then took the streetcar from downtown to go back again, the same evening!, to get more cookies. They are that good. Macaroons, chocolate, oatmeal/white chocolate... Just amazing. We would love to have a Hot Cookie location in Seattle, other than the fact that we'd... More

I have been on a search for the best ginger cookies and they had them. A small cookie was 50 cents each. That is all I bought so not sure how much the large ones were. So yummy. My husband had the chocolate chip small ones which had many chocolate pieces.and were good too.

grab any of these cookies and brownies and feast, i loved the peanut butter cookie ($2.85). served by cool, young women (slightly moody in style) in a tiny little shop opposite castro metro station. Enjoyed with an amazing coffee from Philz coffee round the corner. YUM!

I love the phallic shaped cookies. Awesome. And also, really bloody tasty. They are chocolate macaroons, yum! You're missing a massive photo op if you don't get one, plus they are massive so share one with a friend! Service could be friendlier, I'm sure they get annoying tourists all the time...but we are paying your wages so a smile would... More

I am a cookie lover and I will come to the Castro every visit in San Fran to stock up on the cookies and chocolate covered macaroons. We got a hot snickerdoodle and we were in heaven! The walk there may be peppered by a naked pedestrian or two, after all it is in the Castro.

We found this gem during our bike tour from "Streets of San Francisco". Bakeries are a challenge for me. I love sweets but only the basics. I want brownies or chocolate chip cookies; I do not want flaky pastries with unpronounceable names, nor do I want chocolate chip cookies with nuts, or white chocolate, or candies, or chocolate batter, etc....
