Lovely Breakfast

Great breakfast, friendly staff and slightly old school atmosphere. Deserves to be up there in the best that SF has for pre 10am food

Nothing fancy about this cute little place that seats only about 30 people. We had a table for 4 and got the egg burrito and the SF omelette and the Calif omelette and the hash. All were tasty and well prepared. The service was prompt and friendly. Prices reasonable, too. There are more elegant places for breakfast or brunch but... More

Spend our Bi-annual San Francisco visit around the corner on Columbus Ave., Pat's was recommended by the Hotel counter person. He steered us right! My wife had the Veggie Omelet and she thought it was one of the best she's ever had. She ordered the fruit instead of the Home Fries, all fresh! Strawberry's, Blue Berry's and Banana. I had... More

This place was an oasis in my time of need after having walked up from Pier 1. A burger from an American Italian pub from the night before was causing me trama. Pat allowed me to use the facilities before ordering anything. Then I felt so much better. I ordered a small black coffee, $1.60. I got it in a... More

I was here last year for breakfast and it was great .Today we went for lunch and even met the famous Pat who is really nice. The lunch was great. Portobello Mushroom Sandwich and Cheeseburger which my partner had both fabulous. Do go there if in San Fran.

Interesting selections, good service. A nice choice for something not snobby, but filling and well done.

We ate here two mornings while staying around the corner at the Columbus Motor Inn. Quick, efficient service, good food, spotlessly clean. What more could you ask for? We didn't eat lunch here but the menu looked good--we just were never in the area at lunch time. If you're looking for a good breakfast this is a great choice.

Walking towards Fisherman's Wharf we were looking for a nice place for breakfast. We found it at Pat's Cafe. I had the Eggs Benedict and they were perfectly cooked. Eggs were cooked just right, not overdone. Broke and blended well with the great Hollandaise sauce. Very busy but not surprised with such good food. Small grapefruit juice was more of... More

Hubby and I dined here twice while staying in SF for a week. It's the coziest of little local places! The owner, Pat, can be found there daily and she's an absolute pleasure to speak with. The food is delicious---Satisfying in terms of portion size, perfectly reasonable amount of food for the price, and filled with delightful flavor in every... More

Staying in North Beach / Telegraph Hill

Neighborhood Profile
North Beach / Telegraph Hill
The aroma of freshly roasted coffee beans, the sounds of opera, and the sights of the romantic Italian ristorante come together to create the charming neighborhood of North Beach, once the stomping grounds for the Beatnik Generation. Although parts of North Beach are known for nightlife that’s not always suitable for younger visitors, few neighborhoods in the city exude as much European charm and style. Peruse a bookstore for the literature of Kerouac, Ferlinghetti and Ginsberg, grab some gelato and head to Washington Square for a perfect afternoon of people watching. Just east of North Beach, the hills and staircases of Telegraph Hill are a unique delight. At its peak, the art deco Coit Tower provides sweeping panoramic views of the bay and city. The beautifully landscaped Filbert Street Steps, a street too steep for a roadway, rewards those willing to hike uphill. Keep your ears open and you might even hear the squawk of the wild parrots who call this neighborhood home.
