We were unsure where to go for breakfast in Fisherman's Wharf where we were staying. Having been a bit disappointed with the Hollywood Cafe the day before we headed north to see if there was anything there. We wandered across Pat's Cafe and the menu looked great and it was very busy so we grabbed a table. The service was... More

Came across this gem of a restaurant by chance and enjoyed a fabulous breakfast. From omelettes to pancakes to oatmeal porridge we all felt it was one of the best we had eaten in San Francisco.

We stumbled on this great cafe while staying near the Wharf, great food, good value, nice change from the usual in the area. Nice staff, best breakfast we had while in SF for 6 days!

Get there early if you can because Pats gets very busy. Good quality, great value breakfasts and situated just off Columbus Ave. my first visit to Pats was in 1999 when it was located next to the long defunct Tower Records and I still have a mug from then!

Ate there twice. First w/ just my wife and we split a crepes having already had a small bite. Delicious. Next day returned w/ 5 adult family members. Got hash, breakfast burrito, banana pancakes, waffles, eggs and sausage. All excellent and portions large. Much better than hotel breakfast. Appeared many patrons local. Met the owner Pat on first visit. Neat... More

After 5 days in California, I couldn't believe we found a place that served grits. We went to Pat's for breakfast and all four of us were pleased with the food. The service was fast and friendly and the grits were delicious. Being from the Deep South I was afraid they would be thick and mushy, but they were perfect.... More

Wanted to give mama's a try but the queue was crazy long, so we dropped by pat's instead. Ordered quesadillas, one of their most popular items, and chai tea latte. The chai flavour was too mild for the latte, while the quesadillas was, well, decent. Good alternative to mama's tho - i would probably still be queueing after my meal... More

After reading other reviews about Pat's Cafe, I have to say most people were right on. It's a quaint cafe in a good location just off Columbus with a good breakfast menu. We'd had the French Toast with fruit, and pancakes with fruit. Both were very tasty. They get busy and it's a little slow, but well worth the wait.

Ate here w/my teen during a recent stay. We had crabcakes benedict and huge breakfast burrito. Food is fresh, hot and delicious. The place gets crowded and the service is a little slow but good, made-to-order food is worth the wait.
