A must if in the area..

A novelty in a city that has it all to offer. Nice idea and really well decorated. Very mysterious and something different. Small choice of cocktails but huge choice of whiskey, bourbon etc. More of a whiskey place than anything but absolutely worth a visit. Must book in advance if you want... read more

A very unfortunate situation happened on Saturday night. We brought our friends from Napa to the city for their 1st evening away from their newborn for an adults weekend get away. I had hyped up Bourbon and Branch to them and was ready to give them their 1st experience there. We arrived in the city and checked into our hotel.... More

What a great experience! From the Saloon Free district sign...to the single wooden door...to the secret password and the beautiful decor once inside. The drinks were fabulous and the service just as wonderful!

I like to think I am quite knowledgeable about craft cocktails. This place did not disappoint. In fact, this bar ranks right up there as one of the best I have ever been to. I read about it initially on Trip Adviser while planning my trip to SF. So I knew to make a reservation and even to book the... More

I found the booking process really easy and loved the clandestine entrance. The atmosphere was fun and lively, our server was really friendly and helpful explaining the menu and making recommendations but most importantly the cocktails were incredible. Drinks are reasonably priced but reflect the exclusive feel of the bar. The bar and booths were awesome so I'd definitely recommend... More

Drinks were good and about $11 each, you need a reservation and password. We expected something more secretive and fun but it was really just another bar. We were there when they opened & they sat us right by the door, so every time it opened our area was flooded with light and this dampened the ambiance. They should seat... More

You have to like the experience of it all to really enjoy this place. You need to RSVP in order to get a password that lets you in the door. There are "rules" to abide by and selfies, or any photography for that matter, are not allowed. Strict no? The payoff is a swank environment and some of the best... More

What a hassle! I like a good bar as much as anyone, and especially like whiskey oriented bars, and I've written many reviews about them here on Trip Advisor. Bourbon and Branch has the bones of a great bourbon bar, but all the kitchy fake speak-easy-password-of-the-day nonsense just to get in the door just isn't worth it. I booked a... More

One of the coolest places I've ever been to. Non-descript from the outside, in fact you would not even know it was there--inside is an authentic speakeasy as well. Great cocktails and really great service. If you are traveling to SF for a fun weekend, you MUST check it out. Awesome to say the least.

We had a reservation at a table and arrived and did the whole password thing and were let in uneventfully. I agree the place is way too dark. Your eyes adjust and it wasn't a problem overall, but if you have any problems with vision in the dark you will certainly have problems here. I understand the darkness is part... More
