Kinda Cool

Reservations a must!! I mean sinister because from the moment you come up to the door you feel like you are entering a secret cult. It is a black door with a buzzer, then speak the password you received. The door opens and you are guided to your table. The ambience is something out of an Anne Rice book. Drinks... More

We ventured by Bourbon and Branch after having seen it reviewed everywhere. Found what we thought was the right door (unmarked), pressed the buzzer and nothing happened. Of course we hadn't made a reservation and had no clue. Another couple came by, pressed the buzzer and uttered the "password" for the night. The door opened into a very fun retro... More

You will absolutely need a reservation for the main room; others may be able to get into the Library. Remember the password you receive, as they were checking during our visit. Bourbon & Branch opens at 6:00. No one was in line at 5:45, but there was dozens of people outside a couple minutes after 6:00 on a Saturday. The... More

We had great expectations. We read the house rules and learn the password. Every house rule was broken the first minute. Bar tender beeing the loudest guy in the house and many flat out on their cell phones. No one asked for that magic pass word, just walk in. Not that any of above in important at all but part... After reading all of the great reviews, we had high expectations for Bourbon and Branch. After walking through a scary block near B&B, we arrived around opening time. We joined a manageable line. We were taken to the library through the secret door. That seemed kind of interesting but they unfortunately shared that door with quite a few other people!... More

This is a cool, historic bar which included an extensive retro cocktail list. We loved having the "password" to get in and the intimate feeling of the establishment. Its small, dimly lit and quite romantic. The drinks have a vintage spin on them and give history of the drink in the menu. The service was excellent and we enjoyed watching... More

Pretty cool speakeasy bar in SF The place itself is a somewhat standard speakeasy design. nice old school booths & furniture and dim lit spaces. Their menu is incredibly extensive, with loads of cool cocktails on it. Some might say even too many. makes picking a drink pretty difficult, especially because the lighting is so low that the menu becomes... More

Great experience and totally not what we expected...loved it! Service was fantastic and waitress really helped us with the unusual drink menu. Cucumber gimlet was fantastic! reservations are a MUST! This "speak easy" is a great way to end an evening!

The Bourbon and Branch treats cocktails like a fine meal. While no food is served, they offer a 'flight' with an aperitif, a main and a digestif. We found flavors in our cocktails we had never experienced before that were quite delicious. They have an extensive selection of fine liquor. The setting is in the old speakeasy style. The servers...
