Easy to go online and get a reservation, very entertaining with all the password malarky and once we got to the location, outside looking rather dodgy but once we got inside, pitch dark and had to be guided into the back booths for our cocktails, it was fun, cosy and the choice of drinks was amazing....we were a group of... We read about this speakeasy in the Toronto Star. It listed all the cool speakeasy's in the US. Googled it and found it. Made the reservation 1 month ahead of our visit. It was a ton of fun. The bar is very dark and dingy (and rather small) which all adds to the experience. My wife and I ordered off... More

A mixologist's dream spot blended with a pretty chilled feel. Staff (believe Mary was our waitress) were friendly but held back (a positive). Menu is exhaustive and the cocktails are worth the wait. Can't recommend The Spice Trader enough. A couple of watch outs though - if there is a large crowd in the upstairs area, the noise reverberates a... More

We went in to interview Greg and Alex for a spirits brand and these guys are just the best. They invited us to come back in the evening and we had a great time. They are bar tenders with a true passion for the art, and totally dedicated to the craft. Awesome drinks. Great company. Thanks guys. You are legends.... More

Hey, if you don't think it's a kick to get a reservation for cocktails, say the secret password to enter, and watch waitresses scurry through secret doors disguised as bookcases, you can go to a regular bar. Am I right? This place was so fun, and the cocktails were delicious. Yes, they're a bit pricey, but you won't be staying... More

I had heard of Bourbon and Branch over the years of visiting San Fran but had never been, this past trip was my chance. I made a reservation for a quiet Sunday evening at 7.30pm in their Tenderloin location. We knocked at the inconspicuous door, which you may walk past about 10 times if you are not sure exactly where... More

1 star is too generous for this overrated establishment. It was Mother's day and my family decided it would be an experience to visit this speakeasy. When our drinks did not come as ordered, we sent them back and requested they be replaced. No service came to the table. The place was empty save for a few tables. After waiting... More

We visited their library bar with some friends and had a great time. The drinks are amazing - they really set the standard of what a proper cocktail should be. Would love to go back - this time we'll make reservations on the "password" side.

Make sure to make reservations, loved uniqueness of the bar and the history. Give your eyes a couple of moments to adjust prior to walking around inside!
