Perhaps it's not fair to write a review based on one experience, but I have to say I just don't get it. The place is super cute and I love the location. I ordered a regular drip coffee and it was perfectly fine, but nothing that I can tell that should give this place such a stellar reputation. Did I... More

Likely the best coffee place I've been to....fantastic on all counts. The line is out the door, but the service is very attentive to each and every person. The coffee and the complimentary foods are incredible. A must try!

I am Brazilian and used to have very good coffee. This was one of the palces i San Francisco where the coffee was like home. Delicious and foaming!

The vibe, the quality, the service were great for the walk up location in Hayes Valley. I would go there as a regular if I lived in town.

Travelling across the US for three weeks this was the only place I went back to for coffee twice. Good quality coffee with people who care about what they serve...they look after the machine and they froth milk properly - great!!!

I had the drip coffee and normally I put a little cream. I didn't have to for this it was very smooth,it puts Pete's and Starbucks to shame.

Delicious cappuccino! The drop coffee was a little strong, but still had great flavor. Also had the grilled ham and cheese, which was delicious and hubs had the waffle. It was so good, I could have eaten it plain. Really yummy!

Another recommendation from SF local. When my cousin said she was bringing us to a cafe by the street for coffee, I thought it would be one of those nice Parisan cafes where you sit by the street and watch people go about their business. But this cafe, or should I say coffee "kiosk" (?) looks like it used to... More

On the recommendation of the hotel we were staying at, we went to this little, eclectic cafe tucked away in a square just south of Market Street. A great place with a fantastic breakfast and magnificent coffee. The coffee is to cheap but so unique that it is very worth it. Great breakfast as well. I had the poached eggs... More

Staying in Hayes Valley

Neighborhood Profile
Hayes Valley
Chock full of designer boutiques, art galleries, funky shoe stores, and great restaurants, it’s hard to imagine Hayes Valley once languished in the shadow of a major freeway. Its removal allowed for the creation of an attractive boulevard on Octavia Street with a community park at its center and dozens of trendy businesses to satisfy visitors looking for a stylish respite.
