To set the stage, we had visited the "old Alba" years ago in its previous location and were impressed with the food a service. We made a reservation for dinner on a Friday night expecting a "fine dining" experience. The old place was like that and they even have valet and a good wine selection. Unfortunately it looks like they... More

I've only been to Alba's for dinner but have never had a disappointing meal. It's conveniently located...a five-minute walk from the Quincy Center T. It's also a very popular spot so expect to have lots of company. Not recommended for those who are looking for quiet, intimate dining.

We tried Alba in the early days and the food was always good. They have expanded into the old Thai restaurant space and changed the menu to add steak. It seems an afterthought. The menu is short and seasonal. Try the maze which has hummus with a variety of veggies and is very good. We had the lamb shank and... More

One of my favorite restaurants in the area. Valet parking is quick and easy. The décor is modern but stately (previously a bank). The downstairs bar area has ample seating (so does the upstairs rooftop bar during warmer months). You get real drink for your dollar, and the bar staff is super friendly. The menu is continental, but I highly... More

My husband took me out here for my birthday and we had a fantastic dinner. I had the seafood fra diavlo. I asked our server if I could substitute more shrimp for the lobster since I don't like lobster and he said no problem. It was delicious! And there was so much of it, I actually had to bring some... Came here with a group of 6 for a business dinner. We all ordered steak and everyone's steak came exactly as ordered. Mine was great. A really great feature was the steak 'cellar' with a glass wall. Interesting to see how steak look while aging. I must say this was a unique feature and not everyone in my party was... More

Nice bar with lots of options. The food is not the best. Fair service. The options in the menu are limited. Go for the steak, but don't raise your expectations. I paid like $800 for a group of 10 including the tip...

If you like steak this place will fit the bill. We go here 3 or 4 times a year as it is consistently good. The atmosphere makes for a nice date night.

I feel that I am eating at a Boston-quality restaurant without the long ride. Always have eaten in the dining room. Great service, attentiveness, wonderful wines, owner stops by to chat. Bar scene looks great, but I have not checked it out. Last night I had the pork chop with fingerling potatoes, cauliflower, and kale. A fantastic meal and only... More

Alba is pretty nice for Quincy Center standards. It has a nice sleek look in the spacious bar area (which I prefer to the somewhat stodgey fining room). High ceilings, smart bar, high tops and banquette seating. The food is quite nice. Alba aspires to more than heaps of mediocre food like so many other places in the area. Cocktail,... More
