Arrogant and Disappointing

This restaurant has a limited menu, and after a few times it becomes boring. They do not care if you are a regular. They will not take a reservation, even for a special event. I cannot even begin to imagine why they continue to fill the space, even as tiny as it is, when there is so much better... read more

With four of us in our party, we ordered two combo platters, two supplementary veggie plates and an extra meat plate. This proved to be a good-sized meal for our group (plus dessert for each of us). The combo platters included a good selection of very fresh veggies. We had great fun cooking the selections ourselves in the two broths... More

We went to Shabu since we went to a Shabu restaurant in California. Were not sure how to order or understand the menu. The waitstaff was extremely helpful and we were happy with our selections. We sat at the counter and I think it is easier to have your own space.Had a great experience and felt we were on vacation... More

Really and truly delighted to discover and enjoy this restaurant. I ordered simple maki rolls--spicy tuna and spicy salmon. Friend ordered the sirloin combo, which included rare beef and fresh vegetables ready to dip/cook in their homemade pork broth. Both of us also received a variety of homemade sauces (including Chinese BBQ and soy sauce) for dipping. Everything was outstanding.... More

My boys - ages 12 and 9 now, but we have been going to Shabu for several years - absolutely LOVE this restaurant for its quality and format. As the name implies, shabu means that you cook your own food in a flavorful broth. They provide the ingredients you request, and the rest is up to you. Both of my... More

We ended up here on a Saturday in the early evening last weekend. I was impressed with the offerings of ostrich and beef tongue. My fiancé and I had the kimchi broth. We also ordered a side of kimchi which was delicious. We had a shrimp tempura roll which I enjoyed and he did not. For our hot pot, we... More

Five Ladies who had never before experienced Chinese Hot Pot traveled to Quincy to enjoy a lunch at Shabu. It was worth the trip. We had so much fun experimenting with different vegetables and noodles. The crisp green watercress and spinach were so tasty in the kimchi broth. We ordered the all you can eat lunch buffet for $19.95. Regular... More

Love! If you want the feel of the melting pot without the high price tag, and with an Asian flare, Shabu is the place to go! I went there a couple of nights ago for my first time, though I've been wanting to try it out for a couple of years. I LOVED it! The Kimchi soup and the beef... More

I've had hot pot at many places, this include shabu zen in chinatown and their other location in allston. Then there was hot pot buffet in chinatown as well. This place beats all of those places. Why? Shabu zen and this Shabu has the same quality food and same broths. But shabu zen has been down sizingtheir portions, they started... More

I have never tried hot pot before but my three friends that came along have. The vegetables for the hot pot were nice and fresh. The meat was really good;although a little fatty. I got the regular broth which I suggest for first timers. For the meat I got the shaved sirloin. It is really neat to try and I... More
