Bar Harbor, Maine is one of our favorite places and finding the Portside Grill this year made it even more a favorite. We happened in for lunch one day in early October and were greeted by a delightful hostess and staff. Lobster Potpie was the special of the day. What a treat!!!!! We are true southerners from Mississipi and love... More

The Portside Grill in Bar Harbor offered a nice boiled lobster with a small ear of corn and coleslaw for the local early-bird rate of approx. $16 when we visited. The lobster was nicely done and delicious, but the area offers many restaurants with a similarly priced lobster with better accompaniments for the early bird dinner. So, if it is... More

Got a table before the rush which was lucky because we did see people turned away. Seemed like a tour group at the next table having set menu but our service was prompt and attentive. Clam chowder and garlic bread were very nice, lobster and corn fritters were a bit chewy but OK - all made better by a nice... More

We had the French Onion Soup which was good and the French Dip that was somewhat bland. Pepsi was their principal soft drink product. However, the service was good.

We stopped to look at the menu, spoke with the manager and decided to stay. As they were getting to end of season the beer I ordered was out of inventory and a substitute sent. Halfway through the meal and beer they discovered a beer delivery had been made but not hooked up. They sent my original request over complimentary... More

Accommodated nine of us by pushing tables together. Did not feel crowded in. Went there just before they got busy.

After a very bad experience at Blaze we ended up here. Fabulous service and good food. Great service by the wait staff and gave my husband a special steak. Great Rueben for lunch.

Food was okay, same for service. They were very accommodating about substitutions (with the vegetable of the day, and me not wanting fruit in my dinner salad). My salad was fine, but the dinner companion's lobster bisque was "not tasty". We both ordered the same entrée - sautéed lobster. They should have served it with a little more butter -... More

we chose this place because of the early bird specials and happy hour prices, we arrived well before 6 and found that the early bird prices were changed from when we checked them out earlier in the day, I'm thinking that after the cruise people left that the prices changed, hard to say, but anyhow we decided to eat there,... The room was a nice bit of serenity in the bustling Bar Harbor scene. We had a group with a bunch of kids and they made us feel welcome and accommodated, including crayons for our toddler. The staff was friendly and helpful. Can't give it a higher rating because the price was rather steep for what I thought was pretty... More
