Great view

Good food, hefty portions. Great view of the water. Good service. Looks like an older place that's more appropriate to have a casual lunch or sit at the bar.

We were walking around trying to figure out where to ear and the $5 Margaritas and bar bites puled us in. We ordered onion strings off the bar bite menu- very good. I had a Margarita- one of the best I have ever had- just right- not too sweet, not too sour. I had the beer battered fish and chips-... More

We randomly chose this restaurant as we walked around Bar Harbor. It was rather empty (less than half full) but it took us quite a while before the waitress came to our table. Our food came quickly but that was the last time we saw our waitress until the check was brought. The food was fine but definitely on the... More

Fast service good food quiet environment! Lobster Mac and cheese was very good but very rich and the Carbonara was great as well! Would recommend to others!

Unfortunately we did not have a great experience at Portside Grill. It took us at least an hour to get a simple order of burgers and salads...Unfortunately there was no real apology for the slow service or an explanation of why it was taking so long. Once the food arrived it was good. Had the service been better I would... More

It was a toss-up between this and the Thirsty Whale (next door), but the menu displayed in the window offered more variety so Portside Grill won. My daughter & I ordered the lobster roll and were not disappointed. Thick chunks of lobster overflowed the bun, it was just delicious. Our younger ones were very happy with the kid meal offerings.... I chose the Portside to have my first Maine Lobster of the vacation... it was 'ok'...certainly the smallest lobster I've ever been served. My wife had the baked haddock that was very good. I'm usually hesitant to eat in a place where the maître'd is standing at the door ... like they are hoping someone will come in, but the... More

My husband and I loved eating here, and they had great service! We hate it when we only see the waiter once or twice and they never refill your drink that you paid extra for. Definitely not the case here! Everyone was very friendly and the food was great! The live music was fun, too! :)

My wife and I stopped in here one afternoon to rest our legs from a long day of shopping downtown Bar Harbor. Found out we were there during "happy hour" and the tap beers were $2 off until 6pm that included micro brews as well. What a deal, later we found out most everybody has happy hour in Maine. Anyway,... More

We had the Asian shrimp salad and the Lobster Mac 'n Cheese - innovative dishes that tasted good and were reasonably priced. Nice place.
