What looks like a typical resort town bar is something to enjoy. There is a beautiful outdoor patio with plenty of seating under umbrellas. Desserts were particularly good.

Beautiful setting in a tastefully restored townhouse. Original menu and friendly service were a winning combination. We shared a very good caesar salad and then I had the vegan stuffed poblano pepper (excellent! Can't wait to have it again!) and my husband had the salmon with beans and potatoes- just as delicious. We really enjoyed our dinner here - highly... More

Better to reserve a table in the summer esp if your party has more than 2-3 people- it fills up pretty quickly. They had a decent selection of drinks and food and some very creative dishes - not just the usual fare. What was hilarious was that they ran out of everything that day!! The waitress was sweet and very... More

We are here Memorial Day for dinner. Sat outside on a warm evening. The waiter had a good knowledge of the menu. We had the Fiddlehead ferns for our app. (only available for about a month in the springtime) very tasty similar to asparagus but better in my opinion. I had the Salmon and my wife the steak and my... More

There was a bit of a wait, but plenty of things to do around the area to spend the time. The service was very good. Our dinner was prepared perfectly. The Fiddle-heads were especially great and prepared the best of anywhere we have been.

Just a few blocks out of the busiest part of Bar Harbor parking is available behind the restaurant, and we had no trouble parking on the street. McKay's offers a variety of tasty, traditional and inventive dinners, with a seafood emphasis. The restaurant is sited in a Victorian home with food served in one of several intimate rooms. Very comfortable... More

Great food. Nice atmosphere. A tad pricey, but well worth it for the absolutely delicious meal. I had the halibut special and it came with green beans and potatoes. I had the chocolate torte for dessert.

Another fantastic birthday at McKay's! Love that they have several vegan and vegetarian options, and we had great service as well! The pretzels and beer cheese app was fantastic, and my mushroom Sacchetti pasta was to die for! Definitely a place to stop for a more high end dining experience in Bar Harbor!

My wife and I visited McKays for dinner on the recommendation of a local resident. Set in an old Victorian House it has a certain cosy ambience about the place. It was very busy, so obviously popular with the locals as this time of year is the quieter part of the season. The choice of food was great and exceptionally... More

This is by far one of the better restaurants in the area. My dining partner and I both had the halibut, fresh off the boat might I add,and it was cooked to perfection. I've been to McKay's on numerous occasions and have never had a bad meal. The chef does a fabulous job offering specials each night featuring local produce... More
