The Dog and Pony Tavern is a unique dining and drinking spot that is hidden in a cluster of trees off the beaten path in Bar Harbor. Those who are adventurous enough to find it will enjoy cheap but delicious cocktails and meals in the "treehouse" beer garden, outdoor gazebo bar, or may find themselves at the indoor dining area watching the day's sports game. D 'n P (as the locals call it, short for Dog and Pony) opens at 11:30 am for lunch and drinks and stays open until 1 am! Food is served until 12:30am, but after the tavern closes at 1 am in the summer, a take out window opens, and food is available from 1am 'till approximately 2am. It's a great peaceful place to eat and drink during the day and a happening night spot after the sun sets. In 2010, Dog and Pony was voted #1 Patio Dining and #1 Night Spot! Locally owned and operated, the DnP offers a unique Bar Harbor experience you can't find anywhere else!

Good food and drink

The Poutots were excellent. The burger was very tasty. Nice beer choices. Service was excellent. It is noisy so not a choice if you want quiet but good otherwise.

Had a great meal here . The family loved it . We sat at the outdoor patio the place is very casual . The lobster roll is packed and very good . The hanger steak disappeared quickly from my sons plate and the "Goons" a Rangoon app are a must try item. Service is great ! This place is off... More

Good food and very reasonably priced. Not on Main Street, but it's off it right in downtown. I had the grilled chicken sandwich - $7.50 & my husband had the lobster roll - $14.99. With 2 drinks, total bill was about $30.

The lobster roll was great!!!!!! Only $12.95 and twice as much lobster as those fancy restaurants in town. I will back in Bar Harbor for that roll next year. Our waitress Angela was cheerful and very helpful with suggestions for beer. I don't know about other things on the menu but get that lobster roll.

Very casual... We ate outside...we had bar harbor Reel Ale and angry orchard. We had the pretzel appetizer and the cheese had a nice kick. We also had the lobster rolls with soup. Everything was delicious. The lobster bisque had huge chunks of lobster in it.

We ate here the week of july 4th. The youngest enjoyed his mac and cheese but the hamburgers were terrible. In this day and age where hamburgers are in fashion and are being served freshly made with quality beef there is no excuse for a restaurant to serve a seemingly precooked burger which is not freshly made. Service was excellent... More

Thank you for visiting us! I'm glad to hear that your son enjoyed his mac and cheese and that the service was great. I'm sorry that you're burger wasn't what you expected. We try to describe the menu items in detail on the menu so that everyone understands what they are getting. Our burgers are not pre-cooked. They are one... More

Good beer selection and some of the cheapest prices in town. Had a couple craft beers others didn't have.
