The Dog and Pony Tavern is a unique dining and drinking spot that is hidden in a cluster of trees off the beaten path in Bar Harbor. Those who are adventurous enough to find it will enjoy cheap but delicious cocktails and meals in the "treehouse" beer garden, outdoor gazebo bar, or may find themselves at the indoor dining area watching the day's sports game. D 'n P (as the locals call it, short for Dog and Pony) opens at 11:30 am for lunch and drinks and stays open until 1 am! Food is served until 12:30am, but after the tavern closes at 1 am in the summer, a take out window opens, and food is available from 1am 'till approximately 2am. It's a great peaceful place to eat and drink during the day and a happening night spot after the sun sets. In 2010, Dog and Pony was voted #1 Patio Dining and #1 Night Spot! Locally owned and operated, the DnP offers a unique Bar Harbor experience you can't find anywhere else!

Great bar - but got a little disappointed

Dog and Pony is a great bar to watch games and eat tasty food and try varieties of drinks. Me and my friends who were working on MDI whole summer were coming here pretty often, both during days and nights and we really had fun, especially because they were broadcasting FIBA World cup in Basketball... read more

Great little place to stop & grab a quick bite as well as a cold one. Great selection of beers and bar menu with sandwiches and apps.

Me and my husband just wanted to sit down and have a drink somewhere in between shopping. It was pretty empty in there, for lunch. The bartender was very nice, and quickly got our drink orders. I ordered the chicken nuggets cause I wasn't very hungry, but wanted to pick on something. The nuggets weren't very good, they were pretty greasy... More

We went with our teens on a weekday night about 6:30. It was great. We sat outside and the kids could play darts and rings while we had a beer and waited for our food. The food was good- salads and burgers. Solid and reasonably priced. I think it gets crowded with a bar scene by 9:30, but for a... More

I loved everything about this place: the food, the service, the atmosphere, the outdoor bar and the prices. It was by far my favourite place in Bar Harbor, despite I tried some "posh" restaurants nearby, this was by far my favourite one. I had lazy lobster and I can only recommend that. The only thing is that the lobster was... More

My husband and I stopped in to watch one of the U.S. women's World Cup games while visiting Mout Desert Island. We called before going to see if they were showing the game. The gentleman who answered said they had plenty of TVs and it wouldn't be a problem. When we arrived, several TVs were showing the game. We chose... More

Although this place was recommended we did not particularly care for the food. I tried the pulled pork which was good, but the fish sandwich was just ok and the mac and cheese was extremely salty. Seemed like a nice pub for drinks though. Lots of televisions for sports viewing and a fairly large space with outside seating available .

This was my favorite place to eat in Bar Harbor! We're from southern Maine and this was our second summer in Acadia, i suggested our last day we visit a local restaurant in Bar Harbor and this was awesome! Its right off the main road next to the park kind of tucked away in a less busy part of town.... More

What a treat! One of the best lobster rolls on the area. Cole slaw is a great addition to the roll. Excellent service. Must return. Great variety of local beer.

This place is ready a busy season! Clean and kept nice; the bartender is cool and friendly. I highly recommend the pulled pork sandwich!
