The Dog and Pony Tavern is a unique dining and drinking spot that is hidden in a cluster of trees off the beaten path in Bar Harbor. Those who are adventurous enough to find it will enjoy cheap but delicious cocktails and meals in the "treehouse" beer garden, outdoor gazebo bar, or may find themselves at the indoor dining area watching the day's sports game. D 'n P (as the locals call it, short for Dog and Pony) opens at 11:30 am for lunch and drinks and stays open until 1 am! Food is served until 12:30am, but after the tavern closes at 1 am in the summer, a take out window opens, and food is available from 1am 'till approximately 2am. It's a great peaceful place to eat and drink during the day and a happening night spot after the sun sets. In 2010, Dog and Pony was voted #1 Patio Dining and #1 Night Spot! Locally owned and operated, the DnP offers a unique Bar Harbor experience you can't find anywhere else!

What a treat! One of the best lobster rolls on the area. Cole slaw is a great addition to the roll. Excellent service. Must return. Great variety of local beer.

This place is ready a busy season! Clean and kept nice; the bartender is cool and friendly. I highly recommend the pulled pork sandwich!

The Dog and Pony is largely known as a tavern, a place for people to drink. But I'd heard from my son, among others, that the food was good too. So today may wife and I had lunch there, as it is conveniently located right in the middle of town where we both work. The property was re-built last year,... More

Have travelled to Bar Harbor for at least 10 years. This is our 3rd or 4th time visit to the D&P as they call it. This year we were in for a big surprise as the building was new but best of all the food was as good as ever. The feel of it being an local hangout I mean... More

We tried to go to Finback's, which was closed, but they recommended Dog & Pony. Since we visited in the off season (who knew?), we took their suggestion, and we were so glad. Walking in, we were immediately greeted by Allen the bartender, perhaps the nicest person in all of Bar Harbor. Apparently D&P is a place for the locals... More

I was on a cruise with husband in September, and we decided to grab a bite to eat after our shore excursion. The D and P was a very clean and laid back type of bar. It was enjoyable to relax at a high top table and order a lobster roll with chips on the side, a bowl of clam... More

Overall, this bar is basically like any other bar. They have good, local beer options on tap and bar food available. If you're looking for a casual place to have a drink, this is a good stop. They had plenty of outdoor seating and it's on the second-level of a building, so the feeling of a "rooftop" bar was nice.... More

Frankly, I'm tired of sports bars and bars in general. My fault for going in. Food was okay. If you are into that kind of setting, it's like a local watering hole.

Not much going on here. Televisions. Beer. Food is average at best. Keep going if you're in Bar Harbor for some magic...this is just a dog and pony show.
