Description: The Dog and Pony Tavern is a unique dining and drinking spot that is hidden in a cluster of trees off the beaten path in Bar Harbor. Those who are adventurous enough to find it will enjoy cheap but delicious cocktails and meals in the "treehouse" beer garden, outdoor gazebo bar, or may find themselves at the indoor dining area watching the day's sports game. D 'n P (as the locals call it, short for Dog and Pony) opens at 11:30 am for lunch and drinks and stays open until 1 am! Food is served until 12:30am, but after the tavern closes at 1 am in the summer, a take out window opens, and food is available from 1am 'till approximately 2am. It's a great peaceful place to eat and drink during the day and a happening night spot after the sun sets. In 2010, Dog and Pony was voted #1 Patio Dining and #1 Night Spot! Locally owned and operated, the DnP offers a unique Bar Harbor experience you can't find anywhere else!

Frankly, I'm tired of sports bars and bars in general. My fault for going in. Food was okay. If you are into that kind of setting, it's like a local watering hole.

Not much going on here. Televisions. Beer. Food is average at best. Keep going if you're in Bar Harbor for some magic...this is just a dog and pony show.

We were in the area for a family reunion and Dog and Pony was our stop for the first evening gathering place for lots of family. We were greeted warmly near the outside dining but it was a little damp and cool that evening so we were escorted to a large corner booth inside and extra chairs were collected for... More

We asked for a place to get drinks more off the beaten path. Wish we found this place sooner, unfortunately when we did it was our last night. Had drinks outside and the bartender was very friendly. Didn't have food so can't really comment on that but the drinks were huge and fantastic!!

Bar atmosphere with a decent lunch menu. Service was great and staff was friendly. Prices were fair. Lobster bisque was very good. Good place for a quick bite.

This restaurant offers good pub food. We had hamburgers which were done to our liking. The outside area is a great place to have a drink. We went inside to eat to avoid the mosquitos. Within walking distance of the main area (behind the fire station). A fun place to go.

Definitely a locals place mid week. Ate outside. Service was great. Poutine appetizer. Do I need to say more? Hanger steak for dinner was good as was the rice that went with, but the broccoli was kinda cold and undercooked. It's OK, I don't really like broccoli anyway.

Three of us ate a late lunch at the Dog and Pony on Labor Day. We sat outside in the garden. It was a great setting for a relaxing lunch. We felt like we were in a tree house. There was a pleasant mix of locals and travelers. The Dog and Pony has quite a few microbrews on tap, but... More

A very helpful local man told us about this place as we didn't want to be around a lot of tourist, not that we aren't ones ourselves, but....and we fell in love with this place. Our waitress was great and as other's have mentioned, the lobster bisque is the best I've ever had! My friend had a salad and asked... More
