Delicious Dinner

We were recommended by another couple that was staying at the same B&B. This is a wonderful cozy place about 5 minutes east of Bar Harbor on RT 3. We have been to the Burning Tree about five times over the years while on vacation in the area. This visit was not quite as good as in the past. My cod special was good but a little bland. My wife had haddock with Indian Spices and she loved it. Service was very good. Still above average but not sure... More

We had a lovely meal here. Our dishes were creative and tasty. The wait staff was enthusiastic and pleasant, if somewhat inexperienced. The setting, in a converted home, is quaint, though can be a bit noisier than I expected. Stick to the wine list - cocktails were somewhat disappointing, but a good variety of wines were available. Reservations are a... More

We had heard nothing but good things from people on Mount Desert Island about this restaurant. We got reservations and were treated well from beginning to end. The food there is above average, but nothing that is worth the price tag associated with it. The monkfish was the better of the two meals we had...the Miso scallops were just okay.... More

We ate at the Burning Tree last year on my birthday and we had an excellent dining experience. The service was outstanding, the fish entrees were fresh and expertly prepared. Everything from the appetizers, salads to deserts were delicious. I'm writing this review a year after dining there and I'm about to make reservations for my birthday dinner this year... More

Our group of four had an absolutely wonderful dinner here. Everything was outstanding, from the appetizers to the bread to the entrees to the desserts and the service. A great place to have a delicious meal in a relaxed atmosphere. We wouldn't hesitate to return.

Such a shame that the owners of this establishment do not care about the dining experience of their patrons. Staff training should be of utmost importance especially where the host (which is the face of the restaurant since it's the first person you meet) is concerned. We were seated nex to the wait staff workstation right by the kitchen door.... More

We go to Bsr a Harbor,Me every year. Once we tried Burning Ztree, we have gone back every year. The quality of the food is outstanding. We each enjoyed our meal and the appetizers that we ate. The service was also top shelf. They prepare fish perfectly.

This quaint out of the way resteraunt offered a totally unexpected level of flavor and sophistication. Everything worked. Prompt and knowledgeable service, a creative and exciting menu, wonderful atmosphere, and then to top it all, incredible food. This is a definite foodie place, not for familiar or predictable flavors. All locally sourced ingredients in flavor combination that seemed unusual, but... More

My wife and I have just returned from a meal at Burning Tree for which we paid $250 and frankly cannot understand what the fuss is about. We arrived about a minute ahead of another couple who happened to be seated right next to us. They were served their food much faster than we were and we sat at our... More
