Lovely seafood

We had a lovely dinner here. The young staff is very professional and attentive. The seafood fritters alone were worth the trip, but we enjoyed perfectly cooked monkfish and flounder as well. Dessert and coffee were less successful. The cappucino was foamless, the coffee tepid. We shared some ice... read more

Dessert and coffee were less successful. The cappucino was foamless, the coffee tepid. We shared some ice cream for dessert, two interesting flavors (Persian vanilla, strawberry buttermilk). We had read some very good reviews of the Burning Tree, but were a bit concerned that we would be there on the first night of the season and might face some "opening night" glitches. No problem. This is a very professionally run restaurant with a young helpful staff. To start, we loved the rhubarb martini's subtle flavor. The menu... More

This may be the best restaurant on Mount Desert Island, in spite of other good options. It lies on a quiet roadside out of Otter Creek but is well worth the short journey from anywhere on the island. The food is predominantly locally sourced and always focused on seasonal ingredients. Many of the ingredients come from Burning Tree's own garden... More

We enjoyed a delightful dining experience at the Burning Tree Restaurant. The special strawberry salad good advantage of a delightful hazel nut vinaigrette dressing. The seafood special featured a nice Dijon sauce. The chef's presentation of all courses added to the experience. Service was polite and attentive. We would gladly return.

The Burning Tree doesn't really care if you come back for a second meal ... Apparently they've been in business for 28 years so your opinion doesn't really count and they don't need or want your good recommendations shared with your friends. The wait staff is so condescending ... as if you've never eaten a good meal anywhere else. Our... More

Glad to visit this higher end out of the way restaurant. Food was fresh and refreshing combinations. Service stellar. If you have the time, make the visit. Specialty is fresh seafood and they deliver. They also can manage allergies, likes/dislikes, etc. - another sign that they are actually cooking and not re-heating.

If you want to go on a nice date while around BarHarbor, this is an excellent place. Really great food and very nice service. Beware, it's a bit pricey ~20-30 per plate.

This venue is our favorite of all the fine dining restaurants in Acadia. We reserve well ahead. The food is often grown by the owner or very locally sourced. Their wine list is carefully selected and choices of both food and wine are always outstanding.

Food is by far the best we've ever tasted. A changing menu of fresh local ingredients feature the most amazingly fresh seafood. Chef-owners Alison and Elmer deliver cuisine on a level San Francisco diners would envy. "Crazy Good" - and then there's dessert......................

I had planned this stop well in advance given the reviews. We had just gotten married just down the shore from Otter Cliff and wanted have a nice dinner near by. We were seated pretty quickly given we had a reservation for my family and spouse. Between everyone's plates, they were all very good with the exception to "Swiss Chard... More
