I go to the Burning Tree every year and they never dissapoint. The fish is ALWAYS cooked perfectly. The flavors, service, wine and ambience is absolutely exquisite without being pretentious.

They say that Burning Tree is in Bar Harbor, but it is not in the town. it is about 15 minutes away in a little town called Otter Creek. Well worth the drive though, as the food is very special. This restaurant is excellent in every way except for the party of 8 seated next to us who were a... More

This was my 4th visit to the Burning Tree and go every time I am in Bar Harbor. It is pure joy....always. It is unassuming from the outside but please note their expansive gardens where they grow many of the vegetables and herbs used in the restaurant. The service is wonderful and friendly without being obtrusive. The food is just... More

This is a dinner you treat yourself to once and a while. We eat here once a year when we are in town, and have for many years. Consistently good food, service and atmosphere. Elegant surroundings, first class all the way. We arrived just before our reservation time and were warmly greeted and seated immediately. The server went over the... More

My husband and I ate dinner during our recent vacation in Bar Harbor. We asked some locals what restaurants they would recommend, and Burning Tree was consistently on the top of their lists, so we figured we had to give it a try. SERVICE: We called ahead to get a reservation for 8 pm on a Wednesday, and were a... More

I've been to the Burning Tree many times, and it is by far the best cuisine on MDI. The food is incredible and delicious. The chef's creations are imaginative and creative with the unexpected combinations of flavors. The seafood is almost always perfectly cooked, and their wide selection of dishes are all fantastic. The ingredients, as well as the flavors... More

We went to The Burning Tree to celebrate my birthday. Even though I love seafood, nothing on the menu was appealing--way too complicated--I don't like fish camouflaged and over seasoned. I finally settled on an appetizer, a Thai chicken wing. It was OK. My companion had a pasta dish with a seafood mousse (I think lobster, scallops, and shrimp??), wrapped... More

My wife and I ate here a few weeks ago and we still talk about how good it was. Being a local I make it a point to visit many of our restaurants in order to help visitors make dining decisions and this place is in my Top 2 list of restaurants on the island. The seafood (and it is... More

Food is imaginative and well-prepared. They make extensive use of the produce from their gardens. We had a chat with one of their gardeners. Service is excellent. And the vibe is low-key. We try to get there every year when we visit Acadia

My husband and I went here recently. There are a lot of unique menu choices. However, there are very few entrees that are not fish/seafood-related. I don't like fish or seafood so I chose rabbit although I would have liked something else. The rice that came with one of our dishes was absolutely delicious. Dessert was yummy. It's awesome because... More
