Burning tree is a wonderful farm to table restaurant we have been to several times. We love the food here but be forewarned - there are very limited options for non- seafood eaters. The platings are beautiful and the combinations are inventive. There are several bottles of wine in the 30's that are quite good. We started with the stuffed... More

Fabulous salads, fish, bread. We were too full to try dessert. Great service. Lovely dining room in an old house.

I was very excited to try out this restaurant and unfortunately ended up having a horrible experience. I ordered the swiss chard leaves and it was terrible (I just noticed other reviewers didn't care for either). I politely asked if I could exchange it for something else and the waiter said I could order another meal and they would only... More

My husband and I have eaten here twice and out of the four meals we've had one was excellent, two were good, and one was awful (skip the swiss chard stuffed with scallop mousse - it sounds like a better idea than it is once executed on the plate.) On our most recent visit, the description of one main dish... More

We had a wonderful meal. With an early reservation, the restaurant was quiet, something we appreciate when we eat out. We had eaten here quite a few years ago and were glad the quality and service has remained high. We each had a seafood main course and along side was an amazing broccoli salad. We will return in the future.

Can't say enough wonderful things about this restaurant. The food was incredible. I wish I could remember the dishes we ate! I think the menu changes frequently, anyway. I definitely had halibut and it was among the best I've ever had. Our server was incredibly sweet and the rest of the staff was super nice. Absolutely worth a small splurge... More

So we drove to Otter Creek from our hotel in Bar Harbor, arriving 45 minutes early to walk around downtown Otter Creek before dinner. Big mistake. The restaurant is located directly off the highway, and there are no sidewalks. Likewise, there is no downtown in Otter Creek. When we showed up at 5:15 for our 6:00 reservation, the hostess was... We ate here last night. I remember the waitresses cute, individual outfits best. The food was fine but nothing special. I had the Swiss Chard stuffed with the scallop, lobster and shrimp. The sea food stuffing had been pulverised into a glutenous, homogenous lump - no texture and the tastes were blended like baby food. It would be much better... More

We go to Bar Harbor every year. It is an 11 hour drive that is well worth it. There are mountains overlooking the ocean, great hikes and gorgeous bike trails. Our favorite place to eat while there is Burning Tree. They serve largely fresh fish items. Very creative well prepared appetizers , and each meal is unique. The quality is... More

This is a lovely restaurant and the seafood was very fresh. Our appetizers were very tasty. For entrees we had the bouillabaisse and the cod in broth which were quite generous portions. There was a wonderful-sounding cheese plate the night we were there. We wanted to have it for "dessert" but were too full. We enjoyed our dinner here enough... More
