Just as advertised. Customers were split between people eating and /or drinking. We had the clam chowder and seafood platter . Portions were large and enough for 2. Seafood was good, clam chowder was average I like it a little more rich and a thicker broth. Prices for Bar Harbor were reasonable

We checked in and gave our name. There would be about a 20 minute wait. We left to go get a drink else where. Came back about 10 minutes later and the guy didn't even have our name down and couldn't remember us. We never got to eat and didn't want to eat there.

Service and food suggestions from Joan were excellent. Great food at a reasonable price. A lot of craft and local brews at the bar.

We ran into a gentleman on the trail who was a local resident and this was his recommendation. They were really busy, so the service was a little slow, but the food was worth the wait. We had the lobster and corn chowder, and it was superb.

This review comes with a major disclaimer, all I've ever gotten here was lobster rolls and fried pickles and I've been there 3 times, always for lunch. The lobster rolls aren't one of those monsters that you can't even see the roll, they're rather moderately sized but they're made correctly and the lobster has consistently been good quality. They aren't... More

We finished a kayaking tour and were keen to try the Thirsty Whale for a local beer afterwards having seen the name in area advertising ... first of all 'Tavern' is misleading and implies a cosy local bar. This bar is modern, busy and lacks any atmosphere, the staff looked harassed, distracted and didn't smile once during interaction about beers.... More

We both had the fish club (BLT+fried haddock) sandwich which was better than expected. Very flavorful and not heavy despite the fish being fried. As the place is a bar, the menu is long on fried items which is a shame. We would love to have seen some sautéed and baked seafood items. There can be a line but we... More

Great pub food and drinks. Service was good and the place always had a line for lunch and dinner. Ate there twice and really enjoyed the burgers. The also have some great house drinks.
