Great Burger Place

We visited the Thirsty Whale for lunch and found ourselves waiting for a seat. The noisy bar was a bit of a turnoff but the previous Tripadvisor reviews kept us in line. After about a 15 minute wait we were seated. We were not disappointed. I had the seafood sampler appetizer which was outstanding...a meal in itself. It included generous... More

This was one of the pubs recommended by the B&B that my wife and I were staying at. We dined on soup, garden salad, pesto chicken, and wine while cheering on the USA women’s soccer team in one of their matches for the FIFA 2015 Women’s World Cup. We had a good time.

Again, as always, the Whale never fails us. This time we got basic sandwiches because we were in a hurry to catch a movie. We got bar seats instantly and got fast service. The drinks were great and the food was better! We got out check with the food so we could just run out the door when we were... More

Their small salads are remarkable; among the tastiest I've ever had. Maybe it was the choice of ingredients, or maybe the dressing, but it stood out in my mind. Incidentally, the haddock sandwich was good too.

Great restaurant/bar with a welcoming feel. Stopped in one afternoon while shopping for a cup of chowder and a beer. Service was good, ambiance exactly what you'd expect.

Very friendly staff, good food, good drinks. Always busy. On the beaten path (Cottage Street) in Bar Harbor. Had the leanest pastrami Reuben ever. Good pub fare and typical seafood options.

We stopped in on a cold rainy day wanting something warm and comforting. We wanted chowder so we didnt look too far into the menu. They had both Lobster/corn chowder and New england clam chowder. You could get both with garlic bread of an extra $1. Both chowders were very good and reasonably priced.

We went to this Tavern two evenings in a row because the first time was really great and we didn't want to take the risk of being disappointed with another place. It was a great decision. Being a party of five, we had to wait 20 minutes for a table but once installed we understood we were a the right... More
