Wow, we found a gem right downtown within walking distance of our hotel. Food was excellent and plenty of it for the price. Many locals eat here so you know it is great. Salmon sandwich was very tasty and a very large portion served with French fries or a large salad and I mean really large. We will return again... More

Great value here ( looking at cost vs quality ) with friendly service. Beer selection is more than adequate ( ask for Allagash white ) and their pub fare is better than you'd expect. My favorite is the fish sandwich. Chowders ( eg. corn chowder ) are also good options.. If you're walking around B.H. looking for a place to... More

Stopped in for some beers and chowder to watch the Patriots game during a weekend trip this winter with my boyfriend. Not too many places are open in Bar Harbor in the winter. It was lucky for us this one still was! The Thirsty Whale has a great local atmosphere. The bartender seemed to know most of the patrons and... More

My boyfriend and I flew to Bar Harbor from Pittsburgh (he's a pilot and own an airplane) -- This restaurant was so amazing!! It was exactly what we needed after a 3 hour flight! I had a dirty martini (which was the best one Ive ever had) -- And a bowl of their clam chowder - It was delicious!!!! They... More

This is where all the local people go for lunch and it was easy to see why. Although small, and we had a long wait as we are a larger group, it was worth it! The menu had many great choices. The food was fresh, hot and plenty. Will go again!

Walking around Bar Harbor town center we found this spot and thought we would give a try for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. Had some big screens for some college football which was nice. The place was busy but the host kept the dinning room clean and ready for guest and we were sat very quickly Had a pretty decent... More

I am glad you enjoyed our restaurant. I apologize for the slow service. There are only a few year round establishments open and during the holidays we do get very busy. Since we are operating with our scaled back winter crew we can get backed up. Thank you for your understanding and I hope you enjoyed your stay in Bar... More

We came here seeking fresh lobster that wouldn't break the bank. It didn't disappoint. We were able to get lobster around $10 that was delicious. We also were able to enjoy the locally brewed root beer. The only downside was we got some strange looks for not ordering alcohol, even though we were at a table and not the bar.... More

Thank you for your review. I am glad you enjoyed your lobster roll. I am however sorry that you thought you received strange looks for not ordering alcohol. I hope it did not make you uncomfortable. I am not sure what happened but we have quite a few people that come in and don't order an alcoholic drink, especially during... More

Stopped here for lunch and found it to be no more than an average lunch. Had the Pub Burger, which the burger was good but the bun they put it on became very soggy fast from the burger, so scraped it off the burger with my fork and finished my burger. Guess they forgot that you always put your lettuce... More
