Excellent lox & bagel

Had a great breakfast of lox and bagels. Very good latte too. Reasonably priced. Hippy looking setting with 60s and 70s music. I enjoyed that! Nice folks and quick service. Definitely worth the visit.

I liked the coffee here, but the chairs weren't the most comfortable. I'd still come back though for the coffee.

Stopped in this morning and coffee was good, but service was awful! There was a misunderstanding with my order (I ordered an Americano with a double shot of espresso, she served me a double shot of espresso). When I brought this up to her she was rude, defensive, and loud about it in front of a whole room of customers.... More

Good food, quirky selection, reasonable prices. This felt like the place where locals hang out, which is what I look for. A pumpernickel bagel with nova was $7 which is not bad. You can spend a lot eating at the tourist sites in BH.

This is where to get your coffee and support the true laid-back, hippie vibe of Bar Harbor. Grateful Dead playing, old books for reading, sorta unkempt, but totally unpretentious and inviting. I was there early (8 am) and it was steady, but not crowded. When I paid (the small is a thimble- you'll need a medium), I was told the... More

The atmosphere is nice enough and they even had board games and cozy booths. The problem is that it is a coffee place, and when you go to order, they only have three kinds (dark, medium, and decaf), and it is in a self serve pump at the end of the bar. They also have milk but no cream or... More

Trailhead Cafe is a cute coffee shop in downtown Bar Harbor that serves all the things you would expect a coffee shop to have (coffee, bagels, sandwiches, pastries, etc). the people were very friendly and nice, the place was clean and the coffee and bagels were good. It's very small but cozy. The service was a tad slow but they... More

Our trip to the Trailhead got off to a rocky start. When we got up to the counter, a staff member (seemed like owner or manager) was arguing with a gentlemen about some sort of financial issue. Pretty strange thing to do in a busy coffee shop. Why not bring him in the back to discuss? As for the coffee,... More

I've reviewed the Trailhead Cafe before (substance of that review was that it's a favorite local hangout, the owners have a quirky sense of humor, and the coffee's great) but Angel has started baking, and when you open the front door now, there's a heavenly smell of fresh doughnuts, or cinnamon rolls, or whatever, mixed with the smell of fresh...
