Best Lox Bagel & Coffee in Bar Harbor!!

Locals congregate here - that says a lot not just about the food & beverages, but also the owners are a treat. Thank you Angel & Matt ;)

A cute restaurant on Cottage Street in Bar Harbor. Good food. Very cozy. Comfortable. Peaceful. Clean.

I've reviewed the Trailhead Cafe before (substance of that review was that it's a favorite local hangout, the owners have a quirky sense of humor, and the coffee's great) but Angel has started baking, and when you open the front door now, there's a heavenly smell of fresh doughnuts, or cinnamon rolls, or whatever, mixed with the smell of fresh... Just got what I needed to get through the rest of my day at Trailhead Cafe! Hot Joe and good eats really hit the spot on a bleak and overcast Bar Harbor day. Not only that, but these folks had a slew of kind info on what to do and where to go. I really love kind and genuine businesses... More

When I went to this cafe' I was and have always been treated with great respect while being served politely and efficiently. The owners are very friendly and genuinely care about the people who come in. They have successfully created a space with a welcoming and friendly atmosphere. The nice variety of Coffee and Teas are delicious. The baked goods... More

Don't bother eating anything at this establishment. For what it costs, you'd expect to have fresh, cooked food. The sound of my food being microwaved completely ruined this place for me. On a positive note, the coffee is good. The female owner has an incredibly bad attitude. I feel sorry for her husband.

We wandered in to the Trailhead Cafe because another store had pointed us toward their restroom, which they provide to walk-ins on a donation-by-donation basis. The cafe was filled with a lovely smell because the woman (owner? manager? worker? baker?) had just made cinnamon rolls from scratch. We had to buy one. We should have bought a dozen. The coffee... We have been there twice and had latte and cappuccino while just thawing out from blizzard and snow shoe trip. They were open when others weren't so I think that says they are into it. Also I saw locals there almost like a hippie Starbucks atmosphere. We didn't eat but could get expensive. Mostly couples and singles with laptop. It... More

Not many places stay open in Bar Harbor in December, but we stopped into the Trailhead and were pleasantly surprised. Cool tiled walls, great service, and seriously delicious bagels and homemade schmear. We also tried a couple of cinnamon rolls which were stupendous.

Wonderful atmosphere coffee house with great coffee, teas and food. The hostess, Heidi is really friendly and full of enthusiasm for her local and visiting clientele. Highly recommended! Right next to the Criterion Theater, at 37 Cottage Street.
