Don't be in a rush but if you want to chill with a good cappuccino and nice seat this is a decent place to kick back.

We have been there twice and had latte and cappuccino while just thawing out from blizzard and snow shoe trip. They were open when others weren't so I think that says they are into it. Also I saw locals there almost like a hippie Starbucks atmosphere. We didn't eat but could get expensive... read more

We wandered in to the Trailhead Cafe because another store had pointed us toward their restroom, which they provide to walk-ins on a donation-by-donation basis. The cafe was filled with a lovely smell because the woman (owner? manager? worker? baker?) had just made cinnamon rolls from scratch. We had to buy one. We should have bought a dozen. The coffee... Not many places stay open in Bar Harbor in December, but we stopped into the Trailhead and were pleasantly surprised. Cool tiled walls, great service, and seriously delicious bagels and homemade schmear. We also tried a couple of cinnamon rolls which were stupendous.

Wonderful atmosphere coffee house with great coffee, teas and food. The hostess, Heidi is really friendly and full of enthusiasm for her local and visiting clientele. Highly recommended! Right next to the Criterion Theater, at 37 Cottage Street.

Grabbed coffee and an amazing breakfast sandwich prior to hitting Acadia early one morning and this place is the place to go for a quick bite. They had daily breakfast sandwiches and amazing homemade baked goods - apple cinnamon donuts, yes please!

My hands down favorite coffee shop in BH. Angel and Matt are great people. Angel knows my famous ghostpepper dirty chai and remembers everytime i use soy the moment I walk in. I have tried multiple coffee all over town and nothing compares. Great music too

We sat in the window near the wood burning stove and had a great coffee. One of the best coffees in Bar Harbour.

I do have a soft spot for this place, and I've been loyal through various transitions. Trailhead has tried to evolve, but maybe it's slipping. It's current owner/proprietors are really lovely and friendly. The coffee just isn't, and the treats are not worth the splurge. I have not tried their sandwiches. Grab your coffee to go, as the ambience isn't... More

Matt and Angel run a quirky cafe - strong coffee, delicious food, and good music. The brightly colored walls are hung with photos from the island high school's drama productions - quote your favorite musical to win a smile from the owners! Year-rounders come here for the fellowship, Angel's muffins, warm from the oven, and some inventive sandwich combinations.

We stopped in on a weekend on our way to Acadia. We were looking for a light breakfast. When we came in there were 3 people ahead of us. Long story short, we were in line 20min before we ordered the bagels and cream cheese. There was 1 woman working the counter making drinks and running the register and 1... More
