We enjoyed a very pleasant experience at Havana with wonderfully prepared food, accommodating, courteous and friendly waiter and pleasant surroundings to enjoy the food.

Starting with a chef's present of smoked chicken and broiled pineapple, things went up from there. A smoked seafood appetizer plate of mussels, tuna, hake, and lobster with a couple of spreads was terrific. Spring rolls and then mussels in a bacon sofrito broth was followed by delicately prepared hake covered with an avocado blend, over creamed corn (nothing like... More

I have never had a bad meal at a restaurant named Havana and this one was no exception. Fortunately, we were there at the end of the season in late October or we would never have been able to get in without a lengthy wait or a reservation. The dining room was well appointed and the fllet was prepared perfectly... More

We found Havana to be a friendly and delightful experience. The menu has very interesting selections - imagine finding paella in Maine (and it was excellent)! Also, the cocktails are made from scratch at Havana. For example the bartender actually breaks an egg and uses the egg white to create depth and foam. Also pure rough sugar and lime juice... More

What a wonderful find, small and boutique with an interesting menu, note not the usual tourist offerings but interesting, tasty, exciting and eclectic menu. We were spoilt for choice and again wished we had found this first night so we could go back!  Decor simple, colourful and they manage a small space with style and enable privacy. It was lovely... This restaurant was recommended by our innkeeper who said it was the best meal she had ever had. She was right. Had the grilled rib eye and it really was the best I have ever had

After having a disappointing food experience at the Reading Room, I was very pleased to find a restaurant in Bar Harbor that knows food! Havana is an exceptional food experience. The bean and sweet potato soup was incredible. Layers of favors with every spoonful. The scallops and sushi grade seared tuna could not have been prepared better. I was lucky... More

It was nice to find some innovative menu options in Bar Harbor, with servers who were knowledgable and attentive, but not intrusive. Their scallops were the best we had all year!

authentic and creative cuisine. Excellent service and drinks to boot. One of the desert which was Bread pudding with caramel was disappointing as it consisted of bread with caramel sauce on it but no custard! Otherwise everything else was very good.

CANNOT for the life of us understand what all the raves are about - has the dining world gone insane? Heavy-handed, over-spiced foods lacking in sophistication, carelessly slopped onto plates, with high prices to match New York City, served in dimly lit rooms with amateur wait staff (here is your salad... Um, which salad? I ordered two...) ::: Needed all... More

Dear Tommypics, I really don't know what to say to your mean spirited and useless review. We welcome constructive criticism but it seems you just want to rant. I can't imagine ranting and complaining like that brings much pleasure but if that's how you roll . . . Specifically, in response to what it seems your complaints are: PARRILLA vs.... More
