Good drinks and food

We made reservations for the 6 of us and sat in the room with the wine cellar. It had A/C which was nice b/c it was a warm evening. It is a white table cloth restaurant and the service was very good. We started with Pisco Sours, mojitos, and caipirinhas. All super tasty. We had our kids, and... read more

We ate at the parrilla (outdoors tapas bar). The floor under the table we were seated at was filthy with remains of food. The hostess apologized for it but nothing was done. We had a glass of spoiled wine (which was replaced when we asked). Had a honey roasted chicken dish - chicken was pink, undercooked. So was sweet potato... More

Dear MadMax, Apologies to you and your dining partner for the seemingly lack luster experience. I will however defend the cleanliness of our establishment and note too that it should have been fairly obvious that the entire street directly next to the parrilla has been dug up and the dust and dirt on the floor has been relentless. It is... More

I read a lot of reviews listing it as a place to visit for its quaintness. I would go just to take a picture of the quaintness. The variety of food was not very Latin, overpriced and very small cute portions. The staff was very nice and attentive but they could do better on the menu and portions.

Hello Average New Yorker, Thanks for your compliment on our staff. We too think they are very nice and attentive, along with being well educated and stylish! I am sorry you didn't enjoy your dinners though but am confused - I don't think we have ever been called "quaint" and can't imagine anyone using that term. Nothing wrong with quaint,... More

We make a point to come every time we are at Acadia and have never been disappointed. The food is incredibly fresh and inventive. The atmosphere is relaxed. The cocktails are deliciously strong and well portioned. I almost don't want to write this review for fear that Havana will be mobbed the next time we go, it's just that good.

We were looking for something differnt from traditional american fare and harborside tourist fare in Bar Harbor, ME. Havana was a wonderful discovery - still plenty of seafood offerings, but with a cuban flare and a pleasant, quiet atmosphere. We liked it so much we went back a second night during our 3 night stay in Bar Harbor. Service was... More

Very nice addition to Havanas a little more casual then inside, but very nice just the same. My wife had the Oysters and she said they were very different but very delicious. I had the pulled pork tacos and I was happy. My meal was so good and so messy, but I did not care I was happy. The wine... More

We enjoyed a very pleasant experience at Havana with wonderfully prepared food, accommodating, courteous and friendly waiter and pleasant surroundings to enjoy the food.

Starting with a chef's present of smoked chicken and broiled pineapple, things went up from there. A smoked seafood appetizer plate of mussels, tuna, hake, and lobster with a couple of spreads was terrific. Spring rolls and then mussels in a bacon sofrito broth was followed by delicately prepared hake covered with an avocado blend, over creamed corn (nothing like... More

I have never had a bad meal at a restaurant named Havana and this one was no exception. Fortunately, we were there at the end of the season in late October or we would never have been able to get in without a lengthy wait or a reservation. The dining room was well appointed and the fllet was prepared perfectly... More

We found Havana to be a friendly and delightful experience. The menu has very interesting selections - imagine finding paella in Maine (and it was excellent)! Also, the cocktails are made from scratch at Havana. For example the bartender actually breaks an egg and uses the egg white to create depth and foam. Also pure rough sugar and lime juice... More
