Quiet & good food

We enjoyed this quiet restaurant and had great service. We ordered the fried clams for an appetizer and they were delicious - fried in a crispy batter that didn't overwhelm the clams. Then we tried the clam chowder, which was rich and wonderful. We tried the broiled haddock and it was cooked to... read more

We visited here for lunch on a 1-day cruise stop. Service was cheerful and efficient. The fish (I had lobster, my wife haddock gratin) was very good, fresh and not overcooked. Starters and bluberry pie were excellent, The only negative was the very strange "sauce" on the haddock- basically hot milk and butter, with nothing to bind it and a... More

I have been a visitor in the town of Bar Harbor every year since 2001. Each year I have eaten at the West St. Cafe. This year I ate there on 3 of my 6 nights in town. One night I had broiled scallops --they were very good. The next time I had the baked haddock with their special seafood... More

Looked for a place in Bar Harbor to have lobster roll and clam chowder along with other seafood choices. Saw several places but decided to give this one a try after originally entering a similar place down the block that wouldn't acknowledge our presence (or two other groups) when standing at the at the entrance where it asked you to... The menu had many choices but we all ordered a lobster dish. The waiter, Jimmiy the Super Server, provided excellent suggestions, service and was a great guy! We enjoyed our dining experience at a very fair price in comparison to other restaurants in Bar Harbor. Helen, Marc, Vicki and Steve, from Philadelphia, PA wish that you would plan a night... More

We were told this was the best place for lobster rolls but I was quite disappointed. The lobster was in small pieces and served on a hot dog bum..no butter or toasted...quite bland compared to previous lobster rolls I'd eaten. In fairness I was with 3 other people who liked their choices

My GF and I had our first whole Maine lobster here during our recent visit to Bar Harbor. We had asked some of the locals, including a Maine Lobsterman, where we should go, and many advised us to go here if we didn't want to leave Bar Harbor. Sure enough, there were two tables of locals right next to us... More

This restaurant is good value for money. With very good service and food. A good choice of food for the none fish eater. All the staff had a smile and look as if they enjoyed working at this restaurant. I had lobster one evening it was excellent. Well worth a visit. Good for a coffee break as well in the... More

A quite restaurant with great sea food. Excellent place to have a lobster and a quite relaxing moment after a day of hiking and adventure.

We ate 2 nights ago for dinner. Two in our party had the lobster. Our 7 year old enjoyed the fried shrimp, which was a large portion. I had the grilled chicken sandwich with cheese which was great. My son wants us to eat there tonight, because he wants the lobster!
