Sample a 4 oz beer for 1.50 and even if You buy a 5 dollar pint it is 6.50. Cheap for them to do and should not be cost. Steak tips were 5 tiny pieces for 17 dollars and a couple simple sides. Salad with shrimp okay but overpriced. Seltzer with lime was in a rum glass and drafts limited.... read more

I like to find local brews, Jack Russel's has them, brewed in brew house out back. The had a pale, IPA, Dark, Blueberry, and golden. I sampled the IPA, pale, blueberry and Golden, I preferred the Golden. We ate here a few times in our Christmas week, we have kids so stuck to more budget friendly Burgers, which were a... More

In December there isn't much open in Bar Harbor. We had expected to eat at the restaurant at our hotel, but even it was closed the three nights we were there, so we went to Jack Russell's the first night and liked it so much we ate there all three nights. Cozy, friendly, great food at reasonable prices. I especially... More

We were treating our HS age grandson who has a big appetite so a steakhouse was a good choice. I think all the steaks were pretty good except maybe mine which was $5 off and rather full of gristle. My husband and grandson did better with their choices of filet and NY steak? The accompanying vegetables were very much over... More

The restaurant was very busy and we were ushered upstairs to a bar area which was not the most comfortable. The young lady behind the bar did a great job as she was serving both drinks and meals, especially as she was up and down a flight of stairs with each meal order and again to collect it. My meal... We both had the filet and even though mine was medium rare and my wife's was medium well, they were equally tender and most delicious. The hot pretzels which they serve instead of bread/rolls were a welcome surprise. Since we were there in late October which was the end of the season, the place was relatively empty but we have... Bar Harbour has many fine restaurants, however, if you like steak, this is definitely the place to go! Here, you can be served five star, Black Angus beef, which is the best you would find anywhere. Seared at 2000 degrees, it is cooked to perfection, just the way you order it. The flavour of the beef is what keeps me... More

The good parts - steak was very good, blueberry cobbler was awesome. Waiter was great - he did a nice job of explaining the meals and beers. The average parts - they only serve their own beer, so if you have a favorite that is not one of theirs, you are out of luck. There is no option on the... More

Best steak I have had in a long, long time. The atmosphere is warm and cozy and made you feel like you were in an English pub. I had the Filet which was cooked to perfection and was just like butter! The baked potato was fresh and hot and you got a hot pretzel instead of complimentary bread. We shared... More

We went here because we saw it on the main road back to our hotel. I have a Jack Russell so I had to go. The steak was very good. Blueberry cobbler was awesome!!!! The gal that seated us very pleasant and we had a nice conversation about Jack Russell Terriors and my Jack. The place is small and very... More
