My landlord at my B&B reccomended Poor Boys as a nice place for dinner. I booked at table outside as it was a Saturday night and they would be busy. I sat on the side garden area (Note: outside restaurant seating in Bar Harbor is dog friendly and if that's not your thing, eat inside. There was a very patient... More

Early bird special- Delicious baked haddock with shrimp and crab for the two of us. The next day after a late lunch, I wanted a lighter dinner. After walking around we came back here, the shrimp scampi caesar salad was a very good choice for me. My husband had his favorite meal of the trip, lobster and shrimp alfredo.

The entire meal from start to finish was fantastic. My steak was tender and juicy and cooked to perfection. The staff was friendly and attentive. We did not have a reservation, but we were seated immediately.Outside, you can be seated in warmth next to the awesome triangular fire lamps. All in all, I have nothing negative to say.

Eight of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals at Poor Boy's Gourmet - a testament to the quality of food they create. We had previewed the menu earlier in the week, so we knew we were either going to save room for dessert or get it to take home - and we did! Main courses that included seafood were cooked to... More

Our best meal in Bar Harbor. I had the lobster and shrimp Alfredo, outstanding. My wife had the lobster special. For desert I had the cookies and cream cheese cake and my wife had the blue berry pie. They both were very good. Wanted to go back again just for the cheese cake.

We happened upon Poor Boy's by chance. We were going to go to another restaurant (without a reservation. Big mistake!). The wait there for walk-ins was over 90 mins. So we were walking on main Street and just happened upon Poor Boy's. The hostess said normally the wait would be 30-45 mins, but they ahd a no show and could... More

Great dinner with comparable prices! We all had different meals, as we have a vegan, vegetarian, seafood loved and meat lover in the family, and everyone was more than pleased. We had the crab cake sliders as an appetizer which was the best crab cake I have had yet! The portions were big and the seafood was super fresh. Our... More

We just got in town, did not have a reservation, they seated us around 7pm anyway! We had drinks and appetizers promptly delivered. Waitress was wonderful, food was great. A little pricey but good experience overall.
