This place is known for the 16 desserts they offer every night. So, keep that in mind when you go. Admittedly, I came here on a recommendation from a couple I met at This Way Cafe ( which is outstanding.) So, while the Scampi I had was good and loaded with seafood, I was a little disappointed in comparison. Which... More

Quite a walk out of town from the west-end a block past the Grand... but worth the trip. Good service. We ate on the second floor balcony. I had the baked stuffed Haddock, my wife had the chicken alfredo. I added the baked potato and that was a good sized meal. My wife's food portion was huge, and we probably... More

My husband and I both had Early Bird specials which where $11.99. I had the baked stuffed haddock. The fish was a little dry and was topped with a few tiny shrimp and bread crumbs. It came with a large side of pasta and broccoli. You could get a baked potato for $1 extra. He had the Mediterranean pasta which... More

Poor Boy's Gourmet is one of our favorite restaurants in Bar Harbor. The Early Bird specials are a great value. Service is friendly and the presentation is gourmet. The deserts are to die for. Highly recommend a seat on the second floor near the windows.

Without a doubt my favorite dinner spot in Bar Harbor. The food is SO good - it's hard to pick a favorite. The staff and Owner, Kathleen are so friendly and the atmosphere is charming with original art and comfortable seating. Can't wait to return!

We got here before 6:00 pm so we could get the early bird special, which was absolutely delicious. A little crowded inside, but that's alright. I got the one shrimp and linguini dish, I forget the name of it exactly, but it wasn't called shrimp linguini - it was the spicy kind, which was excellent! All the early bird specials... More

We went here on a Friday evening before 6:00 and got the early bird specials. We had a nice table on the front porch, which was very colorful and cozy. We started off with a delicious blueberry daiquiri. Our main dishes were excellent and abundant. The hostess was very friendly and our waitress was superb. Great place to eat.

We stayed in Bar Harbor 1 week. We are at a lot of different restaurants and this was one of our favorites. Good wholesome food. Our server was extremely sweet, responsive, and friendly. The portions were too big to finish and the price was great for this area. Would highly recommend to my friends.

Waitress was great! Water was awesome! Drinks were okay, food was way over priced could have made better at home! Hannaford brand Alfredo is better then what they got cooking! I will say the shrimp and scallop Alfredo was to die for !

For the longest time have been hearing raves about this place - cheap pasta and great desserts. Decided to finally give it a try. Only two choices of pasta - linguini or pappardelle (not even spaghetti). Had the linguini with meatballs, pasta was undercooked (and i love a good al dente pasta), meatballs were lacking any flavor, had to add... More
